There has been a TON of buzz on Instagram about the “famous” cauliflower gnocchi from Trader Joe’s, so it was finally time I gave it a whirl – and if there’s one thing that I always add to any gnocchi or pasta dish, it’s my favorite sausages from True Story Foods. Their sausages come in a few flavor varieties, but for this dish, I was craving their sweet Italian chicken sausage, because it’s just. that. delish.

Ok, let’s get back to the discussion around this cauliflower gnocchi and how exactly to prepare it. Because if there’s one thing you need to know, it’s that you need to completely disregard package instructions or else you will end up with a pile of soggy much. Ain’t no one got time for that.

My method is super simple. Take a bag of gnocchi out of the freezer and let it thaw at room temperature for approximately 20 minutes. Next, heat a non-stick pan on the stove over medium heat and spray the pan generously with avocado oil. Add the gnocchi, and let brown, flipping them back and forth for about 10-15 minutes, until nicely browned. They will be nice and crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. If yours aren’t like that, then you did it wrong. #sorrynotsorry. If you want an even bigger flavor explosion and an extra nutrient boost, try adding 1-2 tablespoons of bone broth to the pan as you cook them! SO GOOD.

Once you’ve done all that, to make this recipe, you need one package of True Story Foods Organic Sweet Chicken Italian sausage (or sausage of choice), one bottle of your favorite red sauce, and some micro greens to sprinkle on top!

    Voila, dinner is DONE!!!!!

    Ingredients

    • 1 package Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi
    • 1 16oz jar of your favorite pasta sauce
    • 1 package of True Story Foods Organic Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage, sliced into 1/2 inch thick pieces
    • micro greens of choice
    • avocado oil/coconut oil spray
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Instructions

    1. Prepare gnocchi according to my method, which is:Take gnocchi out of the freezer and let thaw at room temperature for approximately 20 minutes. Next, heat a non-stick pan on the stove over medium heat, and spray the pan generously with avocado oil/coconut oil. Add the gnocchi, and let brown, flipping them back and forth for about 10-15 minutes, until nicely browned. f you want an even bigger flavor explosion and an extra nutrient boost, try adding 1-2 tablespoons of bone broth to the pan as you cook them! SO GOOD.
    2. Slice your sausage into 1/2 inch slices, and add to the pan with the already cooked gnocchi. Note, the sausage is already fully cooked, so basically you are just looking to warm it.
    3. In a small pan on the stove, heat the pasta sauce. Once warm, pour over the sausage and cauliflower gnocchi mixture.
    4. Add micro greens of choice and season with salt and pepper as needed.ENJOY!

Your instructions are superior! I just stir fried tender crispy cauliflower gnocchi for the first time instead of sticky mush. TJ should copy and paste your instructions onto the bag.
