CBD SEA SALT PEANUT BUTTER BITES

    INGREDIENTS

    1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
    1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup collagen peptides (optional – if you leave out, you might want to add more oats)
    1/2 cup flaxseed meal
1/2 cup gluten free rolled oats
1/2 cup dried cranberries (I love this brand bc they contain no added juice or sugars!)
1/4 cup dairy free chocolate chips
    1 tb chia seeds
    1 tsp vanilla extract
1 dropper Green Roads CBD Oil (550 mg)
1 tsp sea salt flakes (I like Maldon salt flakes)

I jumped on the CBD train several months ago, after reading more about its health benefits and as a possible aid to helping me manage anxiety. In my world, I am constantly on the go go go, and anxiety kicks in to the point where everything else suffers. The struggle is REAL. To manage it, I exercise (almost) daily, I breathe, and I take CBD – sometimes orally, and sometimes I add a few drops to my baked goods! Sneaky, sneaky, I know.

People have asked me whether I feel any different after taking CBD, and the answer is YES, but not in any strange woo woo way. I just feel more at ease; calmer.  Remember, friends, CBD does not contain THC, which is the cannabinoid that has psycho active effects. So rest assured, you are gonna be A-okay, and you’ve got to believe me when I tell you, because I’m the world’s biggest control freak and even I love it!

Today I am sharing my recipe for CBD infused Sea Salt Peanut Butter Bites. Ahhhh they are glorious. Packed with peanut butter, chocolate chips, cranberries, and wholesome gluten free oats, these bites will certainly help take the edge off. They are great to snack on during the day, but I love having them for dessert after dinner!

In my cabinet, I have a few different brands of CBD oil and I like to alternate. Not all CBD oils are the same, both in terms of their potency and in the quality of the ingredients. For this recipe, I used Green Roads CBD oil in 550mg – it’s super potent, made with pharmaceutical grade cannabidiol, and it’s SUPER effective. In fact, as I was making these bites, I put some under my tongue, and did so again the next day, and YES, I love this CBD oil. It’s also worth mentioning that you cannot taste the CBD oil in this recipe. All you can taste is peanut buttery goodness.

    Makes 12 – 18 bites

    Instructions

In a medium size bowl, whisk together the peanut butter and maple syrup. Next, add the remaining ingredients, except for the sea salt (that is to sprinkle on top of each bite at the end). Make sure that everything is coated well – roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty! If you need to add a touch more peanut butter or maple syrup, do it. Using your hands, form 12-18 bites. Sprinkle sea salt on top, and place in a container. These will stay nice and fresh in your refrigerator for up to one week. They also freeze well, I’d say for up to one month.

    Enjoy!
