If you are new to my page, welcome! I am a mom of two boys, ages 3 and 5. And lucky for me (or perhaps not so lucky), both boys are super picky when it comes to their snacks. We all know that feeding our children snacks made with real, whole food ingredients, is the best option, but sometimes that’s just not an option. Having healthy and healthy-ish snacks on hand at all times is so important – because no one wants to be around a hangry kid. When kids are hangry, they tantrum, and as mamas, we want peace and quiet as much as possible.
And so – because so many mamas ask me what my kids snack on, I put together a little round up of our top 10 favorite packaged snacks. Most of these items you can purchase at your grocery store, and if you can’t find them, then purchase online. I’ll be sure to link the items for you too!
I hope your little ones loves these snacks as much as my boys do!
My boys have been sucking on Once Upon A Farm pouches for as long as I can remember. We are so lucky that these days, we don’t have to resort to shelf stable pouches. If you are lucky enough to have the financial resources to buy cold pressed pouches, I highly recommend giving Once Upon a Farm a try. If you can’t find them at your grocery store, then definitely hit up their website. Plus, on their website is there you can find their new products and flavors.
Chomps is my all time favorite snack, and it’s my boys’ favorite snack too. In fact, my youngest son, Hunter, could probably live on Chomps alone. Haha. But in all seriousness, the ingredients are on point and they are a fantastic source of protein!
Think beef jerky, but without the beef. This is the best fruit jerky around. It’s basically pureed fruits that they have compressed and made into sticks. My boys love these and they come in a variety of yummy flavors.
What kid doesn’t love cookie sandwiches? Well, the brand Late July makes individual packets of peanut butter cookies sandwiches, and they are to die for. Meaning, I eat them too, and secretly hope that my kids don’t finish their packages, so that I can. Ha!
Kids love bunnies and goldfish, it’s just a fact. But since I love talking about ingredients, I’ll simply point out that the ingredients in the Annie’s bunnies are more wholesome traditional goldfish.
String cheese is a great way for your kiddos to sneak in that calcium, especially if they are no longer drinking cow’s milk. We love the Whole Foods 365 brand, but get what you can find!
Yogurt is a great way to start the day. My boys are obsessed with Stonyfields smoothies, and part of the reason for that, is because they come in these cute, individual sized containers, and they taste fantastic. Sometimes we are lucky enough to find their probiotic yogurt smoothies, but it’s not often. So if you find them stock up. Why not give your kid the gift of gut health, with probiotics?!
For those once in a while occasions when you give your kids a candy treat, give them Smart Sweets Candy Fish! My boys absolutely love them and it’s a much better alternative than the original Swedish fish, which are packed with corn syrup and hydrogenated oils!
In those hot, summer months, it is fabulous to have no sugar added popsicles on hand. There are a few different brands that you can find these days, and trust me, your kids won’t miss the extra sugar. These popsicles are nice and sweet as-is, no extra sugar needed!
Though Bare Snacks is an INCREDIBLE brand and we also love their apples and pineapple, and especially because they contain no added sugars!)
