If you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight dinner recipe that is also packed with flavor, then look no further because this is it! My 12 Minute Citrus Broiled Salmon Filet comes together with minimal prep, and is one of the best salmon recipes you will make, this year. It's seasoned with tender baked slices of citrus, fresh herbs, and a seasoning blend that makes this salmon flaky, delicious, and practically melt-in-your-mouth. What could be better than that?!
- 1 Pound Salmon bones removed
- 1 Orange sliced thin
- 1 Lemon sliced thin
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- ½ Cup Fresh Dill chopped and divided
- 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Hot Paprika
- 1 Tablespoon Dried Parsley
- ½ Teaspoon Kosher Salt
To make this Citrus Broiled Salmon, start by preparing the fruit. Slice the orange and lemon into thin slices.
Then, line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and set it aside.
Add half of the lemon and orange slices to the baking sheet, spreading them out evenly.
Next, lay the salmon filet on top of lemon and orange slices.
In a separate small bowl, prepare the sauce. Add in the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, parsley, and sea salt. Wash and chop the fresh dill and add half of it to the bowl with the sauce. Whisk the ingredients together until they're fully combined.
Then, rub the sauce mixture over the salmon, ensuring that the salmon is fully coated in the sauce. Place the remaining lemon and orange slices on top of the salmon.
Transfer the tray with the salmon into the oven and turn on that broil setting. My oven does not have a low or high setting - it's just one broil setting. I place my tray on the lower rack and let the salmon broil for 12 minutes. If you like your salmon cooked through, broil for 13-15 minutes - it is just personal preference.**If your broiler has a setting, pick HIGH, but place the tray on the lower rack. Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven.
Add a drizzle of olive oil on top of the finished salmon, alongside the remainder of the dill and a pinch of flaky sea salt.
Finally, serve and enjoy!
