Valentine's Day is around the corner and what better way to celebrate this occasion than with a sweet treat that is not only delicious but also low in sugar? Introducing my Drunken Strawberries- aka strawberries with Prosecco and vodka- , the perfect way to sweeten up your special day with your loved one or your "Galentines". This recipe comes together in just a few minutes, and is the perfect Valentine's Day treat!

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz. Container Strawberries
  • 1 Bottle Prosecco
  • 4 Ounces Vodka this is optional, but highly recommended
  • Monk Fruit Sweetener or Granulated Sugar

Instructions

  • Start by rinsing your strawberries well and adding them into a bowl
  • Next, pour your Prosecco and vodka over the strawberries, being sure to fully coat them.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid, and place it in the fridge for a minimum of four hours, or up to overnight, so the alcohol can soak into the strawberries.
  • Once your strawberries are done, drain the liquid from the bowl, but don’t throw it away – you can drink it!
  • Finally, toss your monk fruit sweetener or granulated sugar into the bowl and mix until the strawberries are well coated in the sugar. ou can also place the monk fruit sweetener or sugar into a bowl and roll each strawberry into the sugar, in order to get a more “clean” coat.
  • Once done, serve and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to one week.
