These Quick Marinated Red Onions are the perfect way to take your favorite salads, tacos, or sandwiches to the next level. Made with just 5 simple ingredients, it's a delicious, easy pantry staple that is sure to add a pop of flavor and color to any recipe!
- 2 Red Onions peeled and sliced very thin
- 4 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
- ½ Teaspoon Kosher Salt
- ½ Cup Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Dried Oregano
To make these Quick Marinated Onions, start by peeling and slicing the onions very thin. You can use a knife to slice them thin, or a mandolin, if you prefer.
Next, add the sliced onions to a bowl alongside the kosher salt and red wine vinegar.
Toss to combine, then allow the onions to marinate in the salt and vinegar for 10 minutes.
Then, add in the olive oil and dried oregano, tossing to coat well.
Allow the onions to marinate for another 20 minutes.
Once they're done, transfer them to an airtight container and store them at room temperature for 3-4 days. You can store them in the fridge for up to one week, however, please note that the olive oil will solidify. If storing in the fridge, you will need to allow the onions to come to temperature for approximately 30 minutes, before serving.
Add the onions to your favorite recipes, then serve and enjoy!
