When it comes to the perfect summertime drink, there is nothing more quintessential to the season than Lemonade. But recently, I discovered Limonada, a Brazilian drink that is everything that you know and love about lemonade, but made with limes and mixed with creamy condensed milk for a drink that is tart refreshing, sweet, and creamy. My dairy-free version of the Viral Brazilian Limonada is truly the drink of the summer, this year, and I know that you are absolutely going to love it!

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. But, when life gives you limes, you make LIMEADE! That’s exactly what happened to me the other day, when I ordered grocery delivery. I had ordered a whole bunch of lemons to make my Raspberry Lemonade Refresher, but when I opened the grocery bags, I found limes instead. A LOT of limes. When I was looking for what I could do with these limes, I remembered that Brazilian Limonada was trending in the social media world, so I decided to give it a try. And lo and behold… I was OBSESSED!

This Limonada is creamy, it’s refreshing, it’s tart, it’s sweet. It’s a true explosion of flavors in your mouth, and is perfectly cooling for the summertime. I can absolutely see my boys and I enjoying this drink in out backyard, on those long, warm summer days. Plus, it only takes a few minutes to throw together, making it perfect for those times where you’re craving a sweet drink, but don’t want to put in a ton of effort.

And, it’s even more delicious when paired alongside a fresh summer salad, or even tacos. No matter how you choose to serve this drink, you truly can’t go wrong!

All of the ingredients needed to make this Brazilian limonada, laid out on a countertop
To make this Limonada, you will need limes, cold water, condensed milk, and ice cubes.
A blender, sitting on a countertop, with the lime wedges and water inside of it
Start by chopping your limes, then add them to a blender alongside the water.

4 Ingredients to Make This Delicious Summertime Drink

    • Limes: Fresh limes are essential for making this Limonada! I love fresh limes this time of year because they are delicious, refreshing, and add the perfect flavor to this drink.
    • Cold Water: Since this is a cool and refreshing summer drink, we will need cold water in order to make it.
    • Condensed Milk: I’m using coconut condensed milk to keep this drink dairy-free, however you can also use traditional condensed milk, if you prefer!
    • Ice Cubes: Ice cubes ensure that your Limonada not only stays nice and cold, but also makes it icy and refreshing.

Blend on high for about 40 seconds, being careful not to over-blend- this will make the Limonada bitter! Then, strain the liquid into a bowl or jar, then discard the leftover limes.

A Fun & Kid-Friendly Way to Enjoy this Limonada

While this Limonada is absolutely delicious on its own, there is another way to serve this recipe that my boys cannot get enough of! Introducing… my Limonada Popsicles!

Simply place your Limonada into Popsicle molds and you’ve got yourself the most delicious summertime treat that everyone will enjoy!

How to Make This Refreshing Brazilian Limonada

To make this Limonada, start by chopping your limes into quarters, and add them to a blender along with the cold water. Blend on high for about 40 seconds, being careful not to over-blend- this will make the Limonada bitter! Then, strain the liquid into a bowl or jar, then discard the leftover limes.

Wash your blender thoroughly, then add the lime juice ONLY back to the blender along with the ice and can of condensed milk. Finally, blend for another 30-40 seconds, then transfer to a glass and enjoy! Store any leftovers back in the fridge, for up to three days.
