Delicious, nourishing and totally doable!

My relationship with food wasn’t always a healthy one. (Read more on this Good Morning America feature.)

I started my food blog almost 7 years ago on  Instagram, as I began to heal from a 15 + year eating disorder that I hid from everyone.

I was miserable in my career as an Employment Defense Lawyer, and I used food to cope with stress and to manipulate the shape of my body – binging, purging, and restricting food in the name of thinness, to be a desired member of American society (thanks to diet culture).

But one day, my husband caught me in the middle of a binge, and the secret that I’d kept so close to my heart, was no longer a secret. It was out in the open, and that set in motion my (long) journey to recovery and food freedom.

Through extensive therapy, yoga teacher training, and changing the way I ate to include ALL foods through an intuitive eating approach, I learned to love food and I healed. My recovery journey ignited my passion for creating recipes made with real, whole food ingredients, that are easy to make, quick, and don’t sacrifice flavor.

Over on my Substack I share the WHOLE unfiltered Kale Junkie experience. Yes, crave-worthy recipes, but also all things lifestyle – beauty, fashion, motherhood, relationships and entrepreneurship.

More about me…

  1. I am left handed, which I totally attribute as the reason I’m so creative in the kitchen!
  2. I’m 100% Armenian, born and raised in Los Angeles, California!
  3. My favorite food is sushi and my favorite drink is a glass of bubbly rose!
  4. Although I am no longer in private law practice, I still love taking on pro bono cases from time to time. Giving back is so important to me!
  5. My favorite workout is boxing! I love feeling strong and empowered in my body, while building my booty and legs!
