As the weather gets cooler this time of year, I love nothing more than a cozy cocktail at the end of a chilly day. There’s something so special about being able to curl up on the couch with a delicious drink in-hand, and I have to say… this one may just be my new favorite.

Think of this drink as a “grown up” apple cider. It’s sweet, a little sour, and that perfect, nostalgic taste that truly reminds me of fall in a glass. But of course, to add the perfect cocktail twist, we’re spiking it with some whiskey. Because truly, life is so much better with a little whiskey!

As we approach the holiday season, I want to remind you that it is healthy and okay to indulge in ALL of the foods, drinks, and cocktails that you love. You can still live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the foods that make you happy. Whether that means enjoying a hearty dinner like The Best 30 Minute Skillet Lasagna, a delicious, grain-free dessert like my Incredible Pumpkin Caramel Cookie Skillet, or making a comforting cocktail at the end of the day, there is room for ALL foods and drinks within your lifestyle. And truly, the healthiest lifestyle is the one where you can enjoy all of the foods that you love.

And if you’re looking for more tips on how to enjoy ALL the foods that you love (or you’re looking for more delicious recipes to carry you into the holiday season and beyond 😉 ) my cookbook, LOVE TO EAT, is full of delicious, healthy recipes to satisfy both your body and your taste buds. It officially drops on October 25th, which is right around the corner. BUT, if you pre-order it now, you will receive exclusive access to 5 bonus recipes that you won’t find anywhere else. Just submit your preorder info here to get immediate access to these recipes!

But anyway, let’s get back to the recipe, shall we?!

What You Need to Make This Perfect Holiday Cocktail

    • Whiskey: Of course, this wouldn’t be a whiskey cocktail without the whiskey!
    • Apple Cider: You can use apple cider or apple juice in this recipe – both work just as well, and taste absolutely delicious!
    • Lemon: A little bit of fresh lemon adds the perfect, refreshing twist to this cocktail.
    • Pumpkin Pie Spice: And to bring out those perfect fall flavors, we’re adding a touch of pumpkin pie spice.
    • Cinnamon Stick: This is just for garnishing, but it makes your cocktail look too pretty!

How to Make This Quick & Simple Whiskey Smash

This is the easiest part! Simply add all of your ingredients to a cocktail shaker along with some ice.

Shake until everything is fully combined, then pour your drink into a cocktail glass. Add a large ice cube to the glass, then top with a cinnamon stick.

Serve immediately, and enjoy! This recipe makes one drink, but can easily be doubled to make two.

Super tasty! I appreciate that there wasn’t any sugar added in addition to the cider. It was plenty sweet and very balanced!

Tastes good, but a bit too much lemon. Going to try 1/4 lemon next time!

This has way too much lemon. Maybe it was supposed to be 1/2 oz of the lemon juice rather than 1/2 lemon.

I’m sorry to hear that, Van! You can definitely reduce the lemon to suit your liking.

    Delicious, nourishing
