If you’re looking for the perfect, spooky treat to get your kids (or yourself!) in the Halloween mood, then look no further because this is it. My Halloween Banana Pops are super easy to make, super spooky to look at, and super delicious to eat. Think of these as a riff on your classic chocolate-covered bananas, only BETTER!

One of my favorite treats when I was a kid were chocolate covered bananas. There’s something so simple, yet so refreshingly delicious, about a sweet banana smothered in dark chocolate. Especially when the chocolate is hard and you get that nice bite as the chocolate breaks and melts on your mouth. Truly, is there anything better than that?

However, if there is one thing that is slightly better than that delicious dark chocolate melting in your mouth, it’s gotta be how simple and easy this recipe is to make. It only takes about five minutes to prep, and then you’re ready to cool and eat them! It’s the simplest, easiest, delicious, heathy, sweet treat. Should I throw in some more descriptive words to show ya?!

What You Need to Make These Halloween Banana Pops

    • Bananas: Of course, you need bananas to make these banana pops! I like to make sure my bananas are on the riper side, so that they are super sweet. But make sure that they are not too ripe or mushy, or else the popsicle sticks will slide right out.
    • Dark Chocolate: Melted dark chocolate will give these banana pops that rich, chocolatey flavor that you know and love. I love using the Hu Chocolate Gems and melting them down for the most delicious flavor (oh, and code “KALEJUNKIE” gets you 15% off your Hu purchase!)
    • Coconut oil: You need just a touch of coconut oil to mix with the melted chocolate. This is what forms the chocolate “shell” over the bananas. I recommend using refined coconut oil, so there is no coconut taste.
    • Sprinkles: For this recipe we aren’t using just any old sprinkles. We’re using Halloween sprinkles! These are just your conventional Halloween sprinkles that you can find on Amazon or at many grocery stores. I firmly believe that using the familiar ingredients can make for a sweet, nostalgic treat, and after last year, we deserve to treat ourselves!

Why I love Bananas So Much

*Most* people that I know love bananas, because they’re one of the sweetest fruits! Bananas are loaded with natural sugars that are absolutely delicious, and they also make for the perfect grab-and-go snack or breakfast.

However, bananas also have a host of nutritional benefits that make them a great addition to anyone’s diet! Bananas are rich in potassium, antioxidants, Vitamin C, and even fiber, so they keep you full for a while.

And, we all know that I am a mom, and I am lucky that my boys love bananas. These make a fun and festive treat that I feel good about giving them!

    My Favorite Dark Chocolate

As I mentioned earlier, my favorite dark chocolate to use is by Hu. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that Hu makes my most favorite chocolate… EVER.

I love it because it not only tastes delicious, but is also free of any funky ingredients, so it’s as natural (and delicious), as it gets. If you’re looking for the best chocolate to use in this recipe, I cannot recommend it enough! Oh, and did I mention that code “KALEJUNKIE” gets you 15% off your Hu order?!

How to Make These Halloween Banana Pops

    1. Start by cutting your bananas in half and lining them up on a baking sheet.
    2. Grab some popsicle sticks and slide one into each half of the banana.
    3. Add the chocolate chips and coconut oil to a small bowl. Melt in the microwave in 2-3, 30-second increments, until fully melted and smooth. If you don’t have a microwave, you can do this using the double broiler method on the stove.
    4. Put the pops back on the baking sheet and garnish generously with sprinkles.
    5. Freeze for two hours or until the chocolate solidifies, and enjoy!
