A buttery, golden bun, filled with tender meat and all the fixings is what makes sliders one of the best appetizers, easy dinners, or game day recipes. Introducing my Perfectly Juicy Turkey Sliders, made healthier with ground turkey and better-for-you ingredients. This is a recipe straight from my debut cookbook, LOVE TO EAT, and has become so popular with my readers that I knew I needed to share it with you, too!
Friends, what is your go-to dish to enjoy at a party? Is it the cheeseboard, the potato chips, or the spinach artichoke dip? For me, there is one dish that always reigns supreme: sliders.
I love a good slider. After all, what could be better than a juicy, bite-sized burger that’s packed with all of the fixings? It’s part of the reason why I included this recipe for my Perfectly Juicy Turkey Sliders in my debut cookbook, LOVE TO EAT. After testing hundreds of recipes and trying to decide which ones would make the cut, I knew that I needed to have a slider recipe in my book. It’s the perfect party food, and these turkey sliders truly take things to the next level.
Why? Well, for starters, turkey is one of my favorite proteins. It’s a leaner meat that is high in protein and lower in fat, making it a healthier option than a traditional beef slider. And, add all of the fixings on top of that (this recipe calls for tomato and cheddar cheese), and you’ve got a truly perfect bite that’s bursting with flavor. Whether you’re making these for a party, a game day, or as a fun option for weeknight dinner, you truly can’t go wrong with these sliders.
What You Need to Make These Turkey Sliders
Ground Turkey: Of course, you’ll need ground turkey in order to make these sliders!
Egg: You’ll need one egg for this recipe. The egg helps to bind the turkey patty together, giving it the best shape and texture.
Garlic: I always recommend using fresh garlic, whenever possible. The flavor is truly unbeatable!
Soy Sauce or Coconut Aminos: This may seem like an unconventional ingredients, but soy sauce adds a delicious flavor to the turkey. Don’t knock it until you try it!
Fresh Parsley: Freshly chopped parsley not only adds a delicious flavor to these burgers, but also adds the perfect pop of color.
Seasonings: To season these burgers, you’ll need a combination of onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper. Yum!
Slider Buns: Pick your favorite buns and use them in this recipe! I love using traditional Hawaiian rolls, but any rolls work well.
Tomato: Freshly sliced tomato adds a delicious, juicy flavor to these sliders.
Cheddar Cheese: No slider is complete without the cheese, and these sliders are no exception.
Guacamole: A little guac adds the perfect creamy element to these sliders! I use a store-bought guacamole to keep it simple and easy.
Next, Grab a 9×13 baking dish and press the turkey mixture into an even layer, at the bottom of the pan. Then, transfer the pan to the oven and bake the turkey for 20 minutes. Once the turkey is done, remove it from the oven, drain the liquid from it, and set it aside.
Tips for Making the Best-Ever Sliders
If you have questions about how to make these sliders the best ever, then fear not, because I have answers! Here are some of my favorite tips and tricks for making these sliders as delicious, juicy, and flavorful as they can possibly be.
Grease the baking dish: Be sure to lightly grease the baking dish with butter or oil, so that the rolls don’t stick to it.
Use your favorite rolls: While I recommend using Hawaiian rolls for these sliders, your favorite buns or dinner rolls will also work great. I also love brioche dinner rolls as a delicious options for these sliders!
Add a creamy sauce: I love adding my Healthy Ranch Dressing to these sliders for a delicious and creamy twist!
Make them ahead of time: Prepping for a game-day celebration or party? You can definitely prepare these sliders ahead of time! Prepare the turkey according to the directions below, top with the sliced tomato and cheddar cheese, and then transfer it to the fridge. Then, when you’re ready to serve, add the turkey to the buns and pop them in the oven for 10-12 minutes. It’s as simple as that!
