Protein 1g
Carbs 1g

Have you ever heard someone lament about how expensive going dairy-free is, because of the nut milks? Store bought nut milks are not only expensive (and currently on the rise in price), but are often loaded with refined sugars, gums, fillers, and other ingredients that are not-so-great for our guts. It's time to throw those expensive milks out, because once you try my 30-Second Nut Milk Hack, you won't want to buy pre-made nut milks ever again! This milk is smooth, creamy, made with just a few simple ingredients, and actually takes only 30 seconds to whip up.

Friends, with food prices consistently on the rise, it’s super important to provide you with recipes that are not only good for your body, but also your wallet. After all, food is the most expensive that its ever been, and a single carton of nut milk can run you as much as $11 at the grocery store. Talk about nuts!

And not only that, but even dairy milk prices are at an all-time high. For those of us that want (or need) to keep dairy-free, but also don’t want to spend a large chunk of our paycheck on a single carton of nut milk, this recipe comes as the perfect solution. Not only is it incredibly inexpensive, but it also comes together in way less time than it wold take to go to the grocery store. Believe me when I say it only takes 30 seconds!

Most homemade nut milks come together with the use of raw nuts, which are not only expensive (just a small bag of almonds will run you $7) but also take time to soak and de-shell. But this recipe comes together with the help of nut butter, which is just as delicious, creates the perfect, creamy milk consistency, and comes at a fraction of the price! A jar of almond butter is less than $5 at the grocery store, and will give you enough to make 2-3x the servings of this nut milk! Talk about a win!

3 Ingredients Needed to Make This Delicious Nut Milk

    • Almond Butter: The key to making this milk as simply and easily as possible is to use almond butter! You can truly use any nut or seed butter to achieve this milk, but if you want to make almond milk, use almond butter!
    • Water: Water helps to thin out this milk and help it achieve the perfect consistency!
    • Vanilla or Maple Syrup: These are optional add-ins but add a delicious flavor to your nut milk! You can use one or both of them to add a sweet and delicious flavor.

I used a variation of this recipe after Hurricane Ian. We had no electricity for several weeks and I don’t have room to store boxes of shelf stable almond milk.

This can be made in a protein powder shaker, the type that has the steel ball

I like mine a little bit stronger so I used 1 tbsp almond butter per 6 to 8 oz water.

I also used 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, a pinch of Himalayan pink salt, a few stevia drops and 1/8 tsp xanthan gum.

I put everything in the protein shaker and shook it for several minutes.

If you want to strain it, just put the almond butter and water in the protein shaker, shake it for several minutes, strain it through a fine mesh strainer, pour it back into the protein shaker put any remaining ingredients in the protein shaker and shake it for a little bit.
