If there’s one thing I love, it’s chicken parmesan, so say hello to my newest savory recipe, Crispy Chicken Parmesan Strips! These chicken strips turn out perfectly seasoned and so delicious – packed with Italian seasonings and parmesan cheese, for the perfect flavor! You can serve them on their own, over cauliflower rice, or if you are feeling decadent like me, over a simple garlic-olive oil pasta. That part is optional – but making these yummy chicken parmesan strips is mandatory!

What you need to make the crispiest chicken parmesan strips

To make this dish, you need a few simple ingredients, as follows:

    • Chicken breasts: I recommend using skinless, boneless chicken breasts and cutting them into strips. You can also use chicken tenders.
    • Eggs: You need to use the eggs in this recipe, so that the flour mixture sticks to the chicken and they turn out crunchy. No one wants soggy chicken strips.
    • Garlic: I like using fresh garlic in this recipe because it’s strong, and that will make the flavors in this dish pop!
    • Italian seasoning: Italian seasoning is a must in this recipe, and it’s inexpensive.
    • Parmesan cheese: I always recommend purchasing a block of parmesan cheese and using a box grater to grate it finely. It’s much fresher that way. Pre-grated parmesan cheese isn’t as flavorful, and it’s noticeably different.
    • Bread crumbs: If you follow a gluten-free diet, purchase gluten-free bread crumbs. If not, then regular will be just fine.
    • Gluten-free flour: You can use any flour you want, but I do recommend using gluten-free flour or regular all purpose flour.
    • Avocado oil: You need avocado oil or coconut oil in this recipe
    • Butter/ghee: In addition to the above oils, you need butter/ghee too. Why? Because of the yummy flavor profile that you simply cannot replicate by using avocado oil, which is a neutral-tasting, flavorless oil.
    • Garnishes: chopped parsley, flaky salt, black pepper, and lemon wedges

How to prepare these delicious parmesan chicken strips

This meal comes together in under 30 minutes, just following these instructions and work efficiently.

    1. If you are using chicken breasts, I recommend slicing them in half, lengthwise, and then cutting them into 1-inch wide strips. You want them to be thin, so that they cook quickly and evenly in the skillet.
    2. Next, in a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, mashed garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt.
    3. In a second small bowl, whisk together the parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, and flour.
    4. Dip each piece of chicken first into the egg mixture, then transfer to the parmesan mixture, making sure that each piece is coated very well.
    5. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
    6. Add about 2 tablespoons of the oil and 1 tablespoon of the butter/ghee to the pan. Add the chicken in batches, so you don’t crowd the chicken in the skillet, and cook for about 4 minutes on each side.
    7. Remove cooked chicken from the pan, add remaining oil and butter, and finish cooking all of the chicken.

Serving suggestions for these crunchy parmesan chicken strips

    • I really enjoy these chicken strips by themselves, with some ketchup on the side.
    • You can also serve them with a side of pasta, with a simple garlic-olive oil drizzle – no need to complicate things.
    • Another delicious dipping sauce would be warm marinara!
    • You can also serve this over a delicious salad.

The possibilities are endless – just have fun with it and enjoy!
