
Almond butter protein bars with a thiqqqqqqq layer of dark chocolate because…..booty gains? And because – CHOCOLATE. I’ll take it.

Ingredients
THE BASE:
- 1 cup almond butter (peanut butter is yum too!)
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅔ cup protein powder of choice
- ½ cup hemp seeds
- ½ cup ground flax seeds
- 3 tbsp melted coconut oil
THE TOPPING:
- 1 chocolate bar (I used a Hu kitchen almond butter and puffed quinoa bar)
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- sea salt
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond butter, maple syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla, until smooth.
- Next add the protein powder, hemp and flax, and stir together well. Dough should be thickkkk; If it’s not add a little more protein powder.
- Line a 9×5 or 8×4 pan with parchment paper (coat inside of pan with oil first so paper sticks). Press dough evenly in the pan and set aside.
- Melt chocolate bar and coconut oil. I do this in 30 second intervals in the microwave. pour chocolate evenly on top.
- Refrigerate for 30 to 45 min before slicing.
- Sprinkle sea salt on top.
