    ALMOND BUTTER PROTEIN BARS - INGREDIENTSTHE BASE:1 c almond butter (peanut butter is yum too!)1/4 c maple syrup 1 tsp vanilla extract2/3 c protein powder of choice 1/2 c hemp seeds1/2 c ground flax seeds3 tb melted coconut oilTHE TOPPING:1 chocolate bar (I used a Hu kitchen almond butter and puffed quinoa bar)1 tsp coconut oilsea salt

    Almond butter protein bars with a thiqqqqqqq layer of dark chocolate because…..booty gains? And because – CHOCOLATE. I’ll take it.

    ALMOND BUTTER PROTEIN BARS

    Ingredients

    THE BASE:
    • 1 cup almond butter (peanut butter is yum too!)
    • ¼ cup maple syrup 
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • ⅔ cup protein powder of choice 
    • ½ cup hemp seeds
    • ½ cup ground flax seeds
    • 3 tbsp melted coconut oil
    THE TOPPING:
    • 1 chocolate bar (I used a Hu kitchen almond butter and puffed quinoa bar)
    • 1 tsp coconut oil
    • sea salt

    Instructions 

    1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond butter, maple syrup, coconut oil, and vanilla, until smooth. 
    2. Next add the protein powder, hemp and flax, and stir together well. Dough should be thickkkk; If it’s not add a little more protein powder. 
    3. Line a 9×5 or 8×4 pan with parchment paper (coat inside of pan with oil first so paper sticks). Press dough evenly in the pan and set aside. 
    4. Melt chocolate bar and coconut oil. I do this in 30 second intervals in the microwave. pour chocolate evenly on top. 
    5. Refrigerate for 30 to 45 min before slicing. 
    6. Sprinkle sea salt on top.
