Friends, when it comes to summer fruits, one of my absolute favorites are grapes. They truly are the perfect snack! They’re sweet, they’re crunchy, and they’re effortless- no preparation required! While I love other summer fruits like watermelon or mango, sometimes all of the prep work involved in them feels like too much effort. I know I’m not alone when I say this!

Aside from washing them, grapes require no other effort. They’re perfect when cold, or room temperature, or even when they’re frozen. Simply pop them into a bag and carry them with you through all of your summertime activities. Or, add them to a homemade snack box for a simple and easy meal prep. And if you’re really feeling adventurous, add them to a healthy chicken salad recipe. When it comes to all the different ways to enjoy grapes, there is truly no way to go wrong.

That is, as long as they’re properly cleaned, of course. While grapes are a rather low maintenance fruit, they do requite that they are cleaned properly because they have that dry, white film on them that is not fun to enjoy. This simple “hack” is the easiest way to clean your grapes, in just a matter of a few simple minutes!

To clean your grapes properly, add them to a large bowl and pour your sea salt and baking soda on top of the grapes.

My Favorite Ways to Enjoy Grapes

While grapes are absolutely delicious raw, there are so many fun ways to enjoy them that truly make them even more delectable! Grapes are full of fiber and antioxidants, making them a true superfood that should be a staple in all of our diets!

If you’re looking for a fun way to enjoy grapes, I highly recommend trying out my Frozen Tajin Grapes or my Sour Patch Strawberry Frozen Grapes. Both of these grapes are perfectly sweet, perfectly sour, perfectly crunchy, and are a true explosion of flavor in your mouth!

Next, top your grapes with water and allow them to soak for 5 minutes, until the film slips off easily.

What You Need to Properly Clean Your Grapes

There are only four simple ingredients that you need for this “hack” to work, including the grapes themselves!

    • Grapes: Of course, you’ll need grapes in order to clean them! This “hack” works with any and all variety of grapes, so pick your favorites and use them in this recipe!
    • Water: You’ll need water to both soak your grapes and wash your grapes.
    • Sea Salt & Baking Soda: A pinch of sea salt and baking soda create the perfect mixture to remove the dry, dull film that can sometimes accumulate on grapes.

How to Enjoy Your Properly Cleaned Grapes

And if you’re wondering how to properly clean your grapes, then look no further because this is the perfect way to enjoy them! This “hack” is so simple and easy, and once you learn it, you won’t want to clean (or eat) grapes any other way!

Simply start by filling a bowl with water and adding in 2 tablespoons of sea salt and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. Mix until they fully combine with the water, then add in your grapes, making sure that they’re fully submerged in the water.

Let the grapes soak for approximately 5 minutes. Once they’re done soaking, use your hands to gently rub the grapes until the film comes right off. Finally, rinse them with water, dry them with a paper towel, and the enjoy! Store in the fridge for up to one week.
