If you are looking for a refreshing and easy-to-make snack, then look no further than my Sour Patch Strawberry Frozen Grapes. This recipe is a unique twist on the classic frozen grape snack you may have grown up with… but made even BETTER. The addition of lime juice and strawberry jello mix gives the frozen grapes a tangy and sweet flavor, making it a perfect snack to make as the weather begins to warm up!
Friends, I don’t know about you, but I am SO READY for summer time! As I write this, we are on the verge of experiencing yet another week of rain in the San Francisco Bay Area, and to be completely honest… I am over it. This winter has been one of the coldest that we’ve had in a really long time, and I am ready for some sunshine!
But as I’m dreaming of warmer days, I’m busy in my kitchen whipping up ALL of the recipes in preparation for the summertime. The first one? These Sour Patch Strawberry Frozen Grapes.
Frozen grapes are one of my absolute favorite snacks. They’re sweet, they’re crunchy, and when tossed in the right seasonings, they can also be sweet, salty, or sour. If you’re looking for a recipe on the more savory / salty end, then you will love my Frozen Tajin Grapes.
But, these Sour Patch Strawberry grapes are perfectly sour and sweet, just like the candy that they’re named after. And, one of the great things about this recipe is that it is also incredibly easy to make. All you need are a few ingredients, and in just a few simple steps, you can have a delicious and healthy snack that will satisfy your sweet tooth. Plus, it only requires three easy ingredients!
Contrary to popular belief, this recipe is NOT plant-based, as is. Why? Because Jell-O container gelatin, which is an animal by-product and therefore not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
If you want to make this recipe plant-based-diet friendly, simply, swap out the Jell-O mix for a plant-based alternative, like this one!
To make these grapes, start by washing and drying your grapes thoroughly. I love to use a fruit and veggie wash to ensure that my produce is really clean, like this one!
Next, place your washed grapes into a bowl and squeeze your lime juice on top of them. Then, pour your Jell-O mix on top of the grapes and toss until the grapes are fully combined in the lime juice and Jell-O.
Finally, place your grapes into the freezer for 20-30 minutes, until they’re frozen. Don’t skip this step! Once they’re done, eat them and enjoy! Store any leftovers in the fridge for up to one week, or in the freezer for up to one month.
