I have always love experimenting with new cocktail recipes, and this Ombré Tequila Mimosas is one of my new favorite creations. Not only is it easy to make, but the layered effect makes it look like you put in a lot more effort than you actually did, which is PERFECT for holiday gatherings, when you want to impress your friends and family. I cannot wait to serve this drink at my Easter gathering, this year. I know that the colors will make it the perfect conversation starter!

What sets this Ombré Tequila Mimosa apart from a traditional mimosa is the addition of tequila, which adds a bit of a kick to the otherwise sweet and fruity cocktail. Now, while it’s not traditional, don’t knock it until you try it- I guarantee that you’re going to love this twist! After all, who doesn’t love an excuse to have a little bit of tequila in the morning? 😉

And as I mentioned earlier, this cocktail is perfect for Easter Sunday for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s a great brunch option, as the fruity flavors and lightness of the drink complement typical brunch foods like soft scrambled eggs and Muffins. Secondly, the bright colors of the ombre mimosa are reminiscent of the springtime blooms and pastel hues associated with this time of year, and who doesn’t love that?! This drink is truly the perfect way to toast to the occasion, and I know you and your loved ones are going to love it.

4 Ingredients Needed to make These Pretty Mimosas

All you need, in order to make these gorgeous tequila mimosas, are four easy ingredients! If you’re feeling fancy, you can use five. See below for my optional garnish recommendation. 😉

    • Tequila: You might be thinking: “Nicole, tequila is not a typical mimosa ingredient!” and you would be right. A mimosa is typically made from Champagne or Prosecco, and orange juice. The tequila adds a delightful twist to this recipe that I absolutely love!
    • Champagne or Prosecco: You can use either champagne or Prosecco for this recipe – both work just as well here!
Three Champagne flutes, sitting on a countertop, with orange juice actively being poured into them
    • Orange Juice: A splash of orange juice is key to achieving the perfect mimosa. If you want to get creative, you can try swapping out the orange juice for pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, or even guava juice!
    • Grenadine: Grenadine is a non-alcoholic syrup that is typically added to alcoholic drinks to help give them a sweet flavor. And fun fact, while most people think that it’s made from cherries, it’s actually made from pomegranates! It’s what gives Shirley Temples it’s signature flavor.
    • Fresh Raspberries: These are optional, but highly recommended! Fresh raspberries are the perfect addition to any mimosa, and make these drinks feel extra luxurious!

How to Make These Perfect Easter Sunday Mimosas

Making these mimosas is so simple and easy, it’ll be perfect to whip up for an easy Easter Sunday, or anytime that you are craving a delightful mimosa with a twist!

Simply start by adding your tequila, champagne or Prosecco, and orange juice to a glass. Then, top with the grenadine, serve, and enjoy! And if you want to take it to the next level, of course top these mimosas off with some fresh raspberries for a delicious twist. This recipe makes one drink, but can easily be doubled or tripled to make as many drinks as you’d like! Enjoy!
