One of my favorite ways to indulge in a little self-care is to make myself a cocktail at home. There is something so nice about unwinding after a long day with a tall cocktail and a good TV show. And while I love a good Moscow Mule or an Aperol Spritz when the weather is warm, lately, my cocktail of choice has been none other than a dirty martini.

If you’ve never had a dirty martini, it’s a martini that includes a splash of olive juice- that’s what makes it “dirty.” It adds the perfect amount of tanginess to a martini, and if you’re wondering what it tastes like, it tastes similar to pickle juice, in my opinion!

These cubes are made from jarred olives and olive juice and are the perfect way to turn any martini into a “dirty” one. Don’t believe me? Make these cubes, add them to my Quick & Easy Dirty Martini, and witness the magic for yourself!

All of the ingredients needed to make these dirty martini olive cubes, laid out on a countertop
To make these cubes, you’ll only need one ingredient – olives! Any variety of jarred olives works well for this recipe. Simply pick your favorite or use what you already have!

The Only Ingredient You’ll Need to Make This Recipe

There’s only ONE ingredient that you’ll need in order to make this recipe, and that is a large jar of olives. When was the last time that you saw a “one ingredient” recipe that truly only required one ingredient?!

While I use Spanish Manzanilla olives for this recipe, any olives will work well. You’ll need both the olives themselves and the juice from the jar in order to make this recipe!

    My Favorite Ice Cube Tray

If you’ve been to my blog before, then you may know that I am obsessed with ice cube trays. There are so many fun ways to use an ice cube tray, from freezing soups and smoothies to even making pancakes. In fact, I’ve even rounded up over 10+ of my favorite ways to use an ice cube tray!

But, it’s important to note that not all ice cube trays are created equal. And when it comes to making these martini cubes, those typical plastic ice cube trays will not suffice. Investing in a high-quality ice cube tray is such a simple and easy way to take your recipes to the next level!

This is my go-to ice cube tray for all of my recipes and I cannot recommend it enough. I love how deep the cavities are, and the lid ensures that nothing spills over the sides.

Once you’re ready to assemble a dirty martini, remove the ice cube tray from the freezer and add 2-3 cubes to a martini glass. That’s it!

How to Make These Simple & Easy Martini Cubes

To make these olive cubes, start by grabbing an ice cube tray. Open your jar of olives, and divide them equally amongst the twelve ice cube tray cavities. Then, pour the juice from the olives into each of the cavities, filling them to the top.

Finally, transfer the ice cube tray to the freezer and allow it to freeze for a minimum of two hours, or up to overnight. Then, once you’re ready to assemble a dirty martini, remove the ice cube tray from the freezer and add 2-3 cubes to a martini glass. Assemble the martini according to this recipe, then serve and enjoy!

Does freezing the olives change their texture? I like to eat the olives once I’m done with my martini 🙂
