Ranch dressing is a classic recipe that is perfect for dressing up your favorite veggies, salads, proteins, or any dish that can use a creamy kick! This 5 Minute Healthy Ranch Dressing tastes way better than anything you could buy at the store, plus it’s made with greek yogurt- not buttermilk- for a better-for-you alternative that is loaded with protein. Serve this ranch alongside my Easy Veggie Chicken Nuggets, and you’ve got a match made in heaven!

There’s a good reason why ranch dressing is America’s favorite condiment: it’s creamy, it’s flavorful, and it tastes good on almost anything! Plus, it’s a staple of true classic American comfort food. Just walk down the condiment aisle of any grocery store in the Midwest or South and you’ll find an entire wall of different types of pre-made, bottled ranch dressings. Is there anything more American than that?
But while ranch dressing is absolutely delicious on anything from burgers to salads to homemade chicken nuggets, it’s not exactly known for being the healthiest condiment in the world. Traditional ranch is made with buttermilk, mayonnaise, and other ingredients that aren’t necessarily the healthiest for us in larger quantities. But this recipe takes everything that you know and love about ranch dressing and gives it a healthier twist. What could be better than that?!
To give this ranch dressing its healthier twist, we’re swapping out the buttermilk and mayo for full-fat greek yogurt. Greek yogurt is packed with protein and healthy fats, making it the perfect way to hit your protein goals while still enjoying a delicious ranch dressing with your favorite recipes. If you are plant-based, you can also swap out the greek yogurt for any plain dairy-free yogurt alternative.

What You Need to Make This Protein-Packed Ranch Dressing
- Greek Yogurt: To make this ranch dressing healthier (and packed with protein), we’ll be using greek yogurt as a base for the dressing. I use full-fat greek yogurt, and I highly recommend it! If you want to make this recipe vegan-friendly, you could also use a dairy-free greek yogurt instead.
- Worcestershire Sauce: If you are gluten-free, be sure to use gluten-free Worcestershire sauce!
- Lemon: A squeeze of lemon cuts through the fat of the yogurt and adds the perfect tang to this recipe!
- Seasonings: To get that perfect ranch dressing flavor, we’ll be seasoning this dressing with a combination of dried dill, onion powder, garlic powder, dried parsley, kosher salt, and ground black pepper. Yum!
- Water: This is optional. Depending on how thick your yogurt is, you may want to add in some water to help thin the dressing out to its desired consistency!

Three Steps to Making This Easy Dressing
Would you believe me if I told you that this dressing comes together in only three steps, and 5 minutes? It’s true! To make this healthy ranch dressing, start by adding all of the ingredients (minus the water) to a blender. If you don’t want to use a blender, you can add all of the ingredients to a large bowl and whisk them together by hand.
Blend until all of the ingredients are combined and the ranch dressing is smooth and creamy! If the dressing is too thick, add in the water and re-blend until your desire consistency is reached. Once the ranch dressing is done, serve and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to one week!

Hey Nicole! Would this recipe works for non-dairy yogurts?
Absolutely love this healthy ranch! I truly eat it with everything, but especially drizzled on my pizza!!
I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Kathryn! Thank you for your review!
Wow! Another great KJ recipe! Love the tang from the greek yogurt and lemon. I used a single serve 5% Fage and supplemented to reach 1 cup with some full fat sour cream which made it nice and thick, perfect as a dip. It was too yummy to water down, haha, maybe next time!
This worked exactly as written, thanks!
I am so happy to hear that, Mike! Thank you so much for making it!
Recipe was pretty good. I used the 5% single serve Fage Greek yogurt, all other ingredients as printed. I had to add water to start blender. The recipe was watery but tasty, maybe due to not using 1 cup of yogurt. Nor did I read the comments to add sour cream. I will make again.
I definitely recommend omitting the water next time, Karen, or using a little less! I hope you try this recipe again!
My family loved this! Love that I know everything that was in this version of ranch! Healthy and yummy!
this sounds so good and iām gonna make it- but just a psa Worcestershire is not vegetarian!
Yes absolutely!! I believe that is noted in the post ā»
Is the nutrition info for the entire dressing ? If not what serving size is it for? Thanks
I used vegan Worcestershire sauce and this did not turn out good at all for those wondering. Overpowering taste
I don’t see the serving size. Are the specs based on the whole recipe, or serving size?
I used two percent Greek yogurt and it was definitely way too runny! Maybe if I didn’t add the lemon juice it would have been ok but as it was it didn’t work. Definitely need full full fat yogurt.
Good to know! Thank you so much for your feedback, Monika!
Did not like at ALL. Lacked flavor. Straight up yogurt ass.
