Friends, did you know that mangos are the most popular fruit in the world? It’s true! Not only are mangos deliciously sweet and decadent, but they are one of the most nutrient-dense fruits available, and they are an excellent source of vitamins A and C, fiber, and potassium. Vitamin A is important for good vision and a strong immune system, while vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect against cellular damage. The fiber in mangoes can help to regulate digestion and maintain healthy cholesterol levels, while potassium is essential for maintaining a healthy heart and blood pressure.

And when paired with Tajin? It’s a truly unbeatable combination.

If you’re unfamiliar with Tajin, it is a Mexican seasoning made from chili peppers, lime, and salt. It is a popular ingredient in many Mexican dishes, and it adds a touch of heat and tanginess to your chocolate-covered mango. The combination of the sweet and juicy mango with the spicy Tajin is a perfect balance of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds.

Tajin-covered fruit has become a popular trend on TikTok, and it’s no wonder that this snack is taking the internet by storm. It is not only delicious, but it is also a healthier alternative to traditional sweet snacks. Talk about a winning combination!

A hand dipping one of the mango cheeks into melted chocolate and laying it onto a baking sheet
Start by melting your chocolate, then dip each mango cheek into the chocolate and lay it across a parchment-lined baking sheet
All of the ingredients needed to make these chocolate dipped mango with tajin, laid out in individual bowls across a countertop
To make this simple and delicious snack, you’ll need dairy-free chocolate chips, coconut oil, Tajin seasoning, and, of course, mango cheeks

4 Ingredients to Make These Decadent Mango Slices

    • Mango Cheeks: Mango cheeks, aka dried mango, are the juiciest parts of the mango that are dried to perfection and ready to eat. These are one of my favorite snacks on their own, and when covered in Tajin and chocolate, they truly couldn’t get any better.
    • Coconut Oil: Coconut oil helps the chocolate melt perfectly, so it’s nice and ready for us to dip our mango slices into!
    • Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips: To keep this recipe dairy-free, we’ll be using dairy-free chocolate chips. My absolute favorite ones are by Hu!
    • Tajin Seasoning: Of course, you’ll need Tajin in order to make these mango slices! You can find Tajin in most grocery stores these days, making it a super easy way to add spice to any recipe! Woohoo!
A baking sheet, lined with parchment paper, with the mango slices laid out across it. A hand is actively sprinkling tajin across the mango slices
Don’t forget to sprinkle a generous amount of Tajin across each mango slice, before the chocolate sets!

How to Make These Spicy, Chocolatey Mango Slices

Making these mango slices truly couldn’t be easier! Simply start by combining your chocolate chips and coconut oil in a small bowl. Place the bowl in the microwave and melt the chocolate in 2, 30-second increments, being sure to stir in-between increments.

Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your mango cheeks / dried mango slices across them. Take turns dipping each mango cheek into the chocolate, then place it back on the baking sheet. Once all of the mango cheeks are dipped in the chocolate, sprinkle Tajin across each one.

Once done, place your baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes, until the chocolate fully sets. When the chocolate has set, remove them from the fridge and enjoy! These mango slices stay good in an airtight container, on the counter, for five days, or in the fridge for one week.
