Introducing my Copycat Starbucks Chocolate Covered Pink Drink, a better-for-you twist on the not-so-secret Starbucks secret menu item! It may only be January, but I am already dreaming of warm spring days. It has been so cold in the San Francisco Bay Area this winter, and I am ready for the sunshine! I can’t wait for the warm days of sitting outside with my boys and sipping on a cool, refreshing drink… like my version of the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Pink Drink!

If you’re a Starbucks fiend, then you may already know about this delicious drink. It’s an off-menu item, meaning that it’s not on their advertised menu. It takes the traditional Pink Drink that you know and love and combines it with a sweet, chocolatey cold foam, for a drink that literally tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry in a glass. You may be wondering, “if it’s so good, why not just go out and get it?” and friends, there are a few reasons for that!

If you’ve been to my blog before, then you may know that I LOVE sharing a good Starbucks copycat recipe. Not just because it’s infinitely faster (and cheaper) to make these drinks at home, rather than wait in line at the drive-thru, but also because Starbucks drinks are known for sneakily packing in the added sugars and filler ingredients. Now, I fully believe in not demonizing any foods, and that includes Starbucks! But when you’re looking to make healthier swaps, starting with your morning drink is one of the easiest places to begin. Especially when you can make a healthy, better-for-you version that tastes just as good as the “real” thing!

The 4 Ingredients Needed to Make This Drink

Friends, did you know that a typical Starbucks Pink Drink contains over 15 different ingredients? It’s true! While this drink may look simple, it is filled with additives. Luckily, this version comes together with just four simple, easy, and healthy ingredients. What could be better than that?

  • Strawberries: If you’re wondering what makes this drink perfectly pink, it’s the strawberries! And to make this drink even easier to make, you don’t even have to chop the strawberries beforehand. Simply place whole (clean) strawberries into a blender, and you’re halfway there to making this delicious drink!
  • Coconut Milk: The traditional Starbucks Pink Drink is made from light coconut milk, which makes this drink creamy and delicious. So, we are also using coconut milk, too! Plus, the coconut milk adds a light sweetness to this drink.
  • Cocoa Powder: A little cocoa powder gives the chocolate cold foam its flavor. If you want it on the sweeter side, you can opt to use sweetened cocoa powder. However, unsweetened works just as well.
  • Maple Syrup: I love adding maple syrup into the cold foam to give it a deliciously sweet flavor!

Next, add the cleaned, whole strawberries to a blender, alongside the light coconut milk, and blend until the Pink Drink base is smooth and creamy.

How to Make This Pink Drink in Less than 5 Minutes

To make this drink, start by adding the strawberries and coconut milk to a blender. You can leave the tops on the strawberries and place them in the blender whole – just make sure they’re washed thoroughly! Blend the strawberries and coconut milk until they’re smooth and creamy, then transfer the mixture to a tall glass, filled with ice.

Next, prepare the chocolate cold foam. Add the coconut milk, maple syrup, and cocoa powder to a separate glass and whisk to combine. I like to use an electric whisk or milk frother to make this cold foam nice and frothy! Once the cold foam is done, pour it over top of the pink drink. Give it a light stir, then serve and enjoy!

I’ve never had the pink drink. I used half full fat coconut milk from the can and half water to make “light”. It was tasty
