Apple Crisp Cold Brew Latte

 November 1, 2022

Move over pumpkin spice latte, because there is a new coffee drink in town that is perfect for the fall season! That’s right, my Apple Crisp Cold Brew Latte is a sweet, creamy, and dairy-free copycat of Starbucks’ new fall recipe. If you love the taste of warm, stewed apples this time of year, then you will absolutely fall in-love with this recipe!

Friends, if there’s one thing that I think we can all agree on, it’s that the TRUE sign of fall is when Starbucks releases their fall drink menu. I mean, is there anything more quintessentially fall than running to your closest Starbucks location and waiting in line for a taste of a delicious pumpkin spice latte?! Even though I love to make my own at home, with my viral copycat recipes, I still love getting to enjoy the actual “real deal.” So, when they released their new Apple Crisp latte earlier last month, I knew that I needed to try it for myself.

And while it was absolutely delicious, I knew that it could be better. Let’s be honest, Starbucks drinks aren’t exactly known for being healthy… or cheap, for that matter. My take on the Apple Crisp latte is not only refreshingly delicious and packed with the flavors of fall, but it is full of better-for-you ingredients that will keep your taste buds satisfied and your body happy. Plus, this recipe makes five servings of syrup for less than the cost of ONE Starbucks latte… does it get any better than that?!

What You Need to Make This Perfect Fall Recipe

  • Apple + Apple Juice: You’ll need both fresh apples and apple juice to bring this recipe to life. Trust me, the combination of both of them gives the perfect apple flavor!
  • Brown Sugar: Brown sugar and stewed apples are a match made in heaven. And in this recipe, they make for the perfect base for our apple syrup!
  • Water: A little water will help thin out the syrup, to make it the perfect consistency!
  • Vanilla Extract: A touch of vanilla extract makes this syrup truly taste like dessert!
  • Apple Pie Spice: Of course, it wouldn’t be an apple pie syrup without apple pie spice! If you don’t have a pre-made apple pie spice blend, you can make your own by mixing together 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon allspice.
  • Cinnamon Stick: All you’ll need is one cinnamon stick to get the perfect apple and cinnamon flavor.
  • Cold Brew Coffee: Of course, you need cold brew coffee to make this cold brew latte! You can make your cold brew coffee yourself, or get it pre-made at the grocery store.
  • Non-Dairy Milk: Pick your favorite non-dairy milk and use it in this recipe!
  • Ice Cubes: Would it be an iced coffee without the ice cubes?!

How to Make this Copycat Starbucks Fall Latte

Making this recipe is so simple and easy, you’ll never want to go to Starbucks again! Simply start by chopping your apples into thin slices. Next, add them to a small saucepan, on the stove, over low heat, and add in the rest of the apple syrup ingredients: the apple juice, brown sugar, water, vanilla extract, apple pie spice, and cinnamon stick.

Stir your apple mixture and bring to a gentle boil. Cover it and let it simmer for approximately 15 minutes, until the syrup starts to thicken. Then, remove it from the heat.

Remove the apple slices and cinnamon stick and set them to the side, being sure to save the apple slices for garnishing! Finally, pour your syrup into a mason jar, let cool, then store it in the fridge until you’re ready to make your cold brew lattes, for up to one week.

Once you’re ready to assemble the latte, add 2-3 tablespoons of your apple crisp syrup to a glass, along with your ice cubes, cold brew coffee, and milk of choice. Stir, then topped with the stewed apple slices and a dash of cinnamon, and enjoy!

Could this be used in chai tea also?

  2. Is the cold brew coffee in this recipe cold brew concentrate (not mixed with water)? I find cold brew concentrate is a perfect substitute for espresso in coffee drinks!
