Friends, if there’s anything better than a cocktail, it’s a good cocktail that is made at-home. I don’t know about you, but these days, going out for drinks feels like a whole ordeal. Not only is going to the bar not as fun as it was in my 20’s (just one of the many perks of getting older!) But also, here in the San Francisco Bay Area, a single cocktail will run you almost $20. And I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather spend that $20 on a bottle of nice wine, rather than one single drink.

So, if you’re like me and want to enjoy a delicious, bar-style drink without the bar atmosphere or price tag, then you will fall in-love with this easy Lemonade Frosé. Think of this recipe like a grown-up twist on the classic pink lemonade. Only, instead of being filled with lots of sugar and additives, it’s made with just three simple ingredients: a nice, dry rosé, your favorite lemonade, and a homemade lemon syrup that comes together in just a few minutes. The only hard part about this recipe will be waiting the full 24 hours necessary to prepare the rosé ice cubes. Since alcohol doesn’t freeze as well as water, you’ll want to allow extra time for the rosé to freeze in the ice cube molds… otherwise, the result will be way too liquidy. This frosé should take on a more slushy-like consistency, where it’s icy without being thick. It’s the perfect grown-up recipe that will keep you cool on those hot summer days!

Plus, this recipe makes enough for four drinks, which means it’s perfect for preparing in batches. As long as you take the time to prepare the cubes ahead of time, you can whip this cocktail up in a matter of minutes, making it a quick and easy drink to prepare for happy hour… or for your next backyard party. Whether you’re celebrating Memorial Day, planning for the Fourth of July, or are simply looking for a fun way to celebrate the summer sunshine, you will absolutely love this recipe!

A bottle of rosé wine, glassware, a carafe, lemons, sugar, a small jug of liquid, a citrus juicer, and a bowl of lemon zest are arranged on a marble board against a peach-colored wall.
To make this frosé, you’ll need rosé wine, lemonade, and the lemon syrup (made from cane sugar, water, lemon juice, and lemon zeat).
A gold spoon holds ice cubes above a blender filled with ice. Nearby are a pitcher of lemonade, a bowl of sugar, sliced lemons, and a glass of lemon juice on a light countertop.
Prepare the rosé cubes by pouring the rosé into an ice cube tray. Freeze overnight — then, when you’re ready to prepare the frosé, add the cubes to a blender.

The Three Ingredients You’ll Need to Make This Drink

One of my favorite parts about this cocktail recipe? It comes together with just three ingredients: the rosé, the lemonade, and the lemon syrup. While the lemon syrup does require a few ingredients as well (cane sugar, water, lemon zest, and lemon juice), this drink is so simple and easy, and is mostly full of pantry staples!

    • Rosé Wine: I recommend going for a dry rosé wine, to balance out the sweetness of the lemonade and lemon syrup.
    • Lemonade: Of course, this wouldn’t be a Lemonade Frosé recipe without the lemonade! In order to make this recipe easy, I recommend picking your favorite bottled or pre-made lemonade and using it here. No matter what you choose, you can’t really go wrong! Oh, and if you want these drinks to be extra pink, you can also opt to use a delicious pink lemonade.
    • Lemon Syrup: While this is optional, and this cocktail recipe can technically be made without it, I recommend preparing the homemade lemon syrup for a sweet and delicious addition to this recipe. The syrup comes together with a simple blend of cane sugar, water, lemon juice, and lemon zest, which is then whisked together until it has thickened and fully combined.
A person pours liquid from a glass pitcher into a blender filled with ice. Nearby are lemons, sugar, a jug, glassware, and sliced lemons on a peach-colored countertop.
Next, add in the lemonade and lemon syrup. Blend until fully combined and the ingredients form a slushy-like consistency.

How to Make This Easy Frozen Summertime Cocktail Recipe

To make this Lemonade Frosé, start by preparing the ice cubes. Pour the rosé into an ice cube tray and transfer to the freezer overnight. Note that the cubes may still be somewhat icy, as alcohol doesn’t freeze as perfectly as water.

Next, prepare the lemon syrup. Heat a small saucepan, on the stove, over medium heat, and add in the cane sugar, water, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Whisk vigorously until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to bubble. Then, turn off the heat and allow the syrup to cool completely. Transfer the syrup to an airtight glass jar until you’re ready to serve.

A white saucepan with liquid being poured in, surrounded by lemons, lemon zest, a bowl of sugar, a glass of lemon juice, a spoon of salt, and various kitchen utensils on a light countertop.
Prepare the lemon syrup. Whisk together the cane sugar, water, lemon juice, and lemon syrup, in a saucepan, on the stove, over medium heat.
Three pink frozen cocktails garnished with lemon wedges are served in glass coupes on woven coasters. A lemon slice, a spoon with sugar, a bowl of lemons, and glassware are arranged on a textured surface.
Once the frosé is done, divide it amongst four glasses. Garnish with a lemon wedge, then serve and enjoy!

When you’re ready to prepare the frosé, add all of the ice cubes to a blender alongside the lemonade and 1/2 cup of the lemon syrup. Blend the ingredients together until they form a slushy consistency.

Once the frosé is done, transfer it to a large glass. Garnish with a slice of lemon, then serve and enjoy!
