The Best Everything Chicken Tenders

 August 16, 2021

Sharing is caring!

I am a firm believer that Everything But the Bagel Seasoning belongs on… well, everything, and these Everything Chicken Tenders are no different. They’re salty, crunchy, and bursting with flavor, oh, and not to mention, they’re also gluten-free. If you’re craving the delicious, childhood favorite, then look no further because this recipe will change the game!

I’m not going to lie, my chicken tender recipes are some of my favorites. Why is that? Because who doesn’t love chicken tenders! Chicken tenders are such a nostalgic food for me. As a kid, they were my ultimate comfort food, and I still enjoy them to this day. While I used to opt for fast food chicken tenders (I’m looking at you, Chick-Fil-A), these are so much better because they’re healthy, gluten-free, and full of only whole ingredients. There’s nothing fishy here, and that’s what makes them the BEST.

And if I haven’t convinced you that you need to make these yet, what if I told you that they only require four ingredients? Yes, it’s true! Only four ingredients to make these super yummy chicken tenders. Oh, and they’re kid-approved too. You’re welcome.

Grain-Free Chicken Tenders

In addition to being gluten-free, these chicken tenders are also grain-free, thanks to a special secret ingredient: tortilla chips. Instead of traditional breadcrumbs that you would typically find in a chicken tenders recipe, we are using tortilla chips to coat our chicken tenders. My favorite tortilla chips to use are the Siete Grain-Free Tortilla chips because they’re, you guessed it, grain free! But, they’re also totally delicious and add the perfect amount of crunch to these chicken tenders.

What Kind of Chicken Should You Use?

You can use any chicken tenderloins that you like in this recipe, but if you want to know what I use, it’s almost always Belcampo. I love Belcampo meats because they’re humanely-raised, certified organic, and, in my opinion, some of the best quality meat that you can buy. I’ve been a huge fan of Belcampo for years, and I highly recommend their chicken tenderloins for this recipe. What You Need to Make These Everything Chicken Tenders

Like I mentioned, you only need FOUR different ingredients to make this recipe. It truly could not be simpler, or more delicious!

  • Tortilla Chips: As mentioned above, I love using the Siete Grain-Free Tortilla Chips, but you can use any gluten-free tortilla chips here! I recommend using salted tortilla chips, since we aren’t really adding much extra salt to the recipe, besides what is in the Everything But The Bagel Seasoning!
  • Everything But the Bagel Seasoning: The Trader Joe’s classic adds the perfect balance of flavors to these chicken strips. Note, you can also find Everything seasoning online, and at Whole Foods.
  • Egg: The egg acts as our binder to keep the breading nice and crispy on the chicken.
  • Boneless, Skinless, Chicken Tenderloins: After all, how could we make these chicken tenders without the chicken?! I like using boneless, skinless chicken tenderloins from my favorite, Belcampo.

How to Make These Everything Chicken Tenders

  1. Start by preheating the oven to 400F and lining a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. In a large ziplock bag, add your crushed tortilla chips and Everything But the Bagel seasoning (note: you can crush your tortilla chips by rolling over the bag with a rolling pin, or by placing them in a food processor).
  3. In a small bowl, beat the egg, then add in your chicken tenderloins to fully coat them.
  4. Place your chicken tenders in the ziplock bag and toss/shake to coat well.
  5. Line them on the baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165F.
  6. Serve with a side of ketchup, and enjoy!

Serving Recommendations

I recommend serving these Everything Chicken Tenders with your favorite dip, such as ketchup, ranch, BBQ sauce, or honey mustard!

And if you want a twist on the classic “chicken and fries” experience, try serving them alongside The Best Garlic Smashed Potatoes. It’s the nostalgia we all need during these times!

What sets your recipe apart is the clever use of “everything bagel” seasoning, adding a delicious twist that takes these chicken tenders to a whole new level of yumminess. Whether served as a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a satisfying main dish, these tenders are sure to be a hit at any gathering. Plus, the fact that they’re baked instead of fried makes them a healthier option without sacrificing any of the flavor or crunch. Thanks for sharing this mouthwatering recipe with us!
