There’s no summer without shaved ice – it’s a classic summertime treat that is perfect for cooling down on those warm days. But say goodbye to traditional shaved ice, because we’re kicking things up a notch with my Viral TikTok 1-Ingredient Shaved Ice. This shaved ice is made with fresh fruit for a sweet and refreshing kick – no shaved ice maker required! Plus, my version is topped with coconut condensed milk and tajin for a sweet, salty, and spicy kick that everyone will enjoy!

Friends, it’s not too often that I see a recipe and SPRINT to my kitchen to make it. But, as soon as I saw this viral shaved ice recipe make its way across TikTok, I ran to my kitchen to make it. And low and behold, it did NOT disappoint.
I’ve always been a big shaved ice fan. I loved when I was a kid and would get to go to the shaved ice stand at our local beach in Los Angeles. I’d get a big mound of shaved ice, and top it with my favorite syrup (which was always cherry). It was a classic treat that screamed summertime and cooled me down on those hot summer days!
And while I still enjoy splitting a shaved ice with my boys, this elevated version is perfect for the day-to-day, when you want a cool and refreshing treat that also happens to be healthy and delicious. That’s because we’re swapping out the ice for frozen fruit, which is GENIUS, if you ask me. However, I can’t take all the credit for this genius recipe; it comes from Frankie @littlefatboyfrankie who is a literal genius in the kitchen. If you don’t follow him yet, you MUST for the most delicious Taiwanese American recipes.
But, back to this recipe. The best part of this recipe is that it can be made with any frozen fruit that you desire!
But here is what you need to know–you need to work FAST. This recipe takes a bit of arm strength! But I promise you, it’s worth it!!!
For this recipe, I’m using watermelon since it is my favorite summertime fruit. However, I also love making this recipe with strawberries, oranges, mangos… or any other fruit that you enjoy!


Only Three Ingredients to Make This Recipe
And if this recipe couldn’t get any better, it comes together with only three ingredients. Can you believe it?! It’s so simple and easy, and the best part is: you don’t need a shaved ice maker in order to make it!
- Frozen Watermelon Chunks: The key to making this recipe is to use frozen fruit. This is an absolute must! Simply cube or chop the watermelon (or fruit of choice) and place it in the freezer overnight, before making this recipe. It’s as simple as that! And while you’re at it, freeze some extra watermelon and use it to make my No Sugar Added Watermelon Frozé. You won’t regret it!
- Tajin: If you have never tried Tajin, then run to your local grocery store and go grab some. It is a spicy, Mexican seasoning that is delicious on everything from fruit to cocktails. And, of course, on this shaved ice, too!
- Coconut Condensed Milk: Condensed milk is sweet and creamy, and adds a delicious touch of sweetness to this recipe. You can absolutely use traditional condensed milk, but I recommend using coconut condensed milk if you want to keep this recipe dairy-free and vegan-friendly!

Making this recipe could not be any simpler! It comes together in just a few simple steps, for a life-changing recipe that will be ready at the snap of your fingers.
To make this recipe, start by chopping and freezing the watermelon (or fruit of choice) overnight. The next day, when you’re ready to make this recipe, remove the fruit from the freezer and using a box grater or a microplane, grate the fruit into a bowl. You’ll want to work quickly, so that the fruit doesn’t melt!
Once your fruit is all grated, top the shaved ice with the coconut condensed milk and tajin. Serve immediately, and enjoy! That’s it!
