5 Delicious Healthy Thanksgiving Day Recipes

 November 23, 2021

Friends, can you believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner?! It’s hard to believe that the end of the year and the holiday season are already among us, and it’s already time to get started with all of the yummy holiday cooking!

If you follow me on Instagram (and if you aren’t then what are you waiting for?! Come join the party!) then you may have seen that last week, I shared FIVE brand-new Thanksgiving recipes all week long, as part of my first annual #KJThanksgivingWeek! My team and I had been hard at work developing these recipes for weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Week, and I’m so excited that they’re finally here.

Whether you’re looking for inspiration on what to cook this Thanksgiving, or are just looking for some delicious, healthy twists on your favorite Thanksgiving Day recipes, my hope is that one of my recipes can eventually find its way into your annual holiday traditions.

All of my recipes are crafted from the same ones I ate, year after year, as a kid, and getting to share them with YOU is my favorite thing. After all, this season is all about bringing people together, and what brings people together more than delicious food?!

These five recipes are super easy to make, and fit a wide variety of “diets”. Whether you’re Paleo, Vegan, Gluten-Free, or anything in-between, there’s something for everyone, to make sure you have a Thanksgiving that feels as special as you are. 😉

01. – Cinnamon Bourbon Cranberry Sauce

I promise, you’ve never had cranberry sauce like THIS before. My Cinnamon Bourbon Cranberry Sauce is a riff off of my mother’s recipe, and is loaded with spicy cinnamon and, of course, bourbon. If you’ve never tried bourbon in cranberry sauce, you absolutely need to, because it is a total game changer – trust me.

Plus, you only need six easy ingredients to make it. It’s simple, easy, and delicious. Oh, and if you don’t like traditional cranberry sauce, try this recipe; it might just change your opinion on it!

02. – Vegan Pumpkin Graham Cracker Cheesecake

Say “bye-bye” to pumpkin pie and “hello” to Vegan Pumpkin Graham Cracker Cheesecake! This delicious, creamy cheesecake is totally dairy-free, thanks to a certain not-so-secret ingredient: cashews! Plus, this recipe can be made totally gluten-free, simply by using gluten-free graham crackers for the crust.

This recipe truly is the ultimate Thanksgiving Day dessert; it’s creamy, it’s pumpkin-y, and is so delicious, you’ll want to make it every year!

03. – Toasted Marshmallow Sweet Potato Rounds

If you love a good sweet potato casserole (who doesn’t?!) then this recipe was made for you. My Toasted Marshmallow Sweet Potato Rounds are a delicious, healthy-ish, bite-sized version of your classic sweet potato casserole – marshmallows and everything!

This recipe requires only 6 different ingredients, and can easily be modified to be made vegan (by using vegan-friendly marshmallows) or nut-free (by omitting the walnuts)! Plus, these little rounds come out way too cute. If hand-held sweet potato casserole isn’t one of the cutest things you’ve seen this holiday season, then I don’t know what is! 😉

04. – Paleo Cauliflower Sausage Stuffing

Who says you can’t be Paleo AND enjoy stuffing?! This stuffing recipe requires no bread to make it, but don’t let that stop you – it’s so delicious, and just as satisfying to eat! In this recipe, we’re combining cauliflower and Italian sausage with a slew of delicious seasoning, to make a slightly soft, slightly crunchy stuffing that will be reminiscent of your traditional favorite recipe!

This is also a great option for my gluten-free or low-carb friends, who want a delicious and healthy holiday treat!

05. – The Best Ever Vegan Stuffing

While my Paleo Cauliflower Sausage stuffing isn’t for my plant-based friends, this recipe was made with them in-mind! This is truly THE Best Ever Vegan Stuffing, and will blow the socks off of what you thought stuffing could be. You can think of this recipe as my healthy, vegan twist on the classic boxed stuffing. Except, mine is loaded with flavorful mushrooms and herbs. Yum!

I love this recipe for Thanksgiving, but truth be told, it’s good any time of year- especially when the holiday nostalgia begins to set in. 😉 Make this recipe this year, and you’ll surprise your loved ones with just how delicious plant-based cooking can be!
