Creamy Tropical Green Smoothie

 April 11, 2021

For someone that calls themselves the “Kale Junkie,” you’d think there would be more green things happening on my blog. Well, no. I only bring them out when I create something amazing, because life is too short for mediocre food. Today I’m sharing my first green smoothie recipe, the Creamy Tropical Green Smoothie, which is that good. So go run to your kitchens, get out your blender, and get blending.

What you need to make this healthy island green tropical smoothie

  • Banana: I always love frozen bananas in my smoothie! I know that diet culture tells us to avoid bananas, but what gives? They are full of potassium and provide a ton of energy from natural sugar!
  • Spinach: I always love fresh spinach for smoothies.
  • Frozen mango: Don’t skip the mango, it’s what gives this smoothie the tropical vibe! Pick up a bag from the frozen section at your grocery store.
  • Collagen (optional): I am always looking for ways to sneak more protein into my smoothies/diet, and if I am seeking something unflavored, then I opt for plain collagen. It packs a big nutritional punch, and will keep you full for hours.
  • Tahini: Tahini is my favorite ingredient in life, so of course I had to include it in this smoothie. Don’t have it or don’t like it? Skip it!
  • Almond butter: Almond butter and tahini go wonderful together, and both provide those healthy fats!
  • Cinnamon: A little cinnamon adds the best flavor, so don’t skip it!
  • Almond milk: I go with almond milk because it’s always what I have on hand, but any non-dairy milk of choice will do!

How to make this tropical green smoothie

I feel like it’s always a little goofy when bloggers spend an entire paragraph telling people how to make the smoothie. It’s quite simple. BLEND. And adjust the liquid as needed until you reach your desired consistency. Voila, simple!

Wow! This is such a delicious smoothie. I typically avoid tropical smoothies and gravitate towards creamy, dessert tasting smoothie instead (like your Black Forest Cake smoothie). Anyways, this smoothie is INCREDIBLE! It’s the best of both worlds honestly. Definitely going to be in my rotation going forward.

    • Woohoo! I am so thrilled to hear that you love it so much, Jane! Thank you so much for your review, this totally made my day!

  3. Just made this today- and put Greek yogurt in place of the tahini (because I am preggers and it’s controversial lol) but I also added frozen cauliflower and it was AMAZING. Thank you for all your delicious recipes!
