I’d bet that when most people think of smoothies, they automatically assume two things: one, they’re healthy, and two, they’re boring. And while I of course believe that smoothies should be healthy, they definitely do NOT need to be boring! That’s why I can promise you that any smoothie recipe that I share will not be boring, and will probably taste more like dessert than the average smoothie does!
Over the past few months, I’ve created quite a few new smoothie recipes that are healthy, delicious, and definitely not boring. As we get into summer time, we could all use a fun smoothie to cool us off on the hot days, which is why I’m excited to roundup all of my favorite smoothie recipes for you! Keep reading for more details on some of my favorite recipes, and prepare to have your idea of smoothies change forever.
Let’s be real: tahini is my love language, and this Snickerdoodle Tahini Smoothie is the perfect cross between a snickerdoodle cookie and halva. If you’re unfamiliar with tahini, it is a paste that’s similar in consistency to nut butter but is made of ground up sesame seeds. It’s salty, nutty, and a delicious stable in Middle Eastern cuisine. Whether you’re new to working with tahini or a seasoned veteran, you’re going to love this unique Snickerdoodle Tahini Smoothie.
Why have a normal protein shake when you can start your day with essentially a healthy coffee milkshake?! My Peanut Butter Cold Brew Smoothie is the best way to kickstart your day and refuel your body after a tough workout. Made with creamy peanut butter, fresh coffee, and frozen cauliflower (YUP, YOU READ THAT RIGHT), this smoothie is designed to replenish your energy reserves and rebuild those muscles!
I don’t care what time of year it is, it is ALWAYS pumpkin season in my book! I love pumpkin, and call me crazy, but I’d drink a pumpkin spice latte all year-round. This Pumpkin Spice Latte Smoothie is everything you love about a traditional pumpkin spice latte, but with a twist. With frozen veggies providing a healthy boost, and Manuka honey providing sweetest and a boost of antioxidants, we’re giving Starbucks a run for their money with this one.
Smoothies are one of the best and fastest ways to jam-pack your body with vitamins and nutrients, and this Immune Boosting Smoothie is perfect year-round for helping support your body in fighting off illness. Especially in the midst of a pandemic, we need this smoothie now more than ever. This recipe is so simple, easy, and nourishing, I promise it’ll become a staple for you!
A smoothie that *actually* tastes like a cinnamon roll – is it too good to be true?! Nope! This smoothie tastes so much like a cinnamon roll, you’ll question whether or not you’re actually eating one! And with all the veggies hidden inside (more frozen cauliflower), you’ll be nourishing your body at the same time. I love this smoothie for the days when I want something more filling, but also decadent and that satisfies my sweet tooth! Your life is about to be changed!
This Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Smoothie is bursting with fresh blueberries and tastes just like your favorite childhood lunch! With bananas and dates for added sweetness, it’s the perfect combination of sweet and salty. Think of this smoothie as the ultimate throwback.
This Black Forest Smoothie is one of the best smoothie concoctions I’ve ever created. This smoothie packs a rich chocolate-y taste, thanks to the cocoa powder, and it’s equally balanced out by the cherries for a little tartness. It’s quite literally dessert in a glass. Trust me when I say that you’ll want to make this one ASAP.
For someone that calls themselves the “Kale Junkie,” you’d think there would be more green things happening on my blog. Well, no. I only bring them out when I create something amazing, because life is too short for mediocre food. My Creamy Tropical Green Smoothie is my first green smoothie recipe, and dare I say, it’s the best one yet. A little sweet, full of greens, and so delicious, I would drink it every day.
A nutritious, protein-packed smoothie that actually tastes like birthday cake? SIGN ME UP! Actually, sign YOU up! If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I don’t mess around when it comes to smoothies. This Healthy Birthday Cake Smoothie is simply delicious – you’ll think it’s your birthday every time you make it!
There’s a smoothie shop here in San Francisco that makes the best “Mint Chip Shake.” After every Barry’s Bootcamp class, I head over to Project Juice and order the Mint Chip Shake. It’s minty, thick, and has a ton of texture, thanks to the addition of the cacao nibs. I tried multiple versions of this smoothie to come up my Creamy Mint Chip Smoothie, which I personally think is even better than my friends over at Project Juice. But you can be the judge of that.
