If you have landed on this blog post and don’t know a single thing about me, WELCOME! I am Nicole, aka Kalejunkie, a former lawyer and mom of 2, currently a recipe developer and lifestyle blogger. But for over 15 years of my life, I suffered from binge eating disorder (BED) and bulimia. If you want to read more about that, and how I recovered, click here, here, and here.
But this post is about gut health. One of the things that isn’t very widely talked about, is how eating disorders both during the eating disorder and especially during the recovery. The most common gastrointestinal issue are: irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), heartburn, bloating, constipation, dysphagia (trouble with chewing or swallowing food), nausea, stomach pain and fullness.
For me personally, a former binge eater and bulimic, my stomach acids were off, I suffered from extreme bloating and distention, constipation, and regular stomach pain. And over the course of a five year recovery, while my eating habits improved and I learned how to eat intuitively, my digestive system was slow to follow suit. No matter how / what I ate, I still suffered; all a part of the aftermath of the havoc I created and how poorly I treated my body.
Needless to say, restoring my gut health was the last part of the puzzle to finally achieve optimal health. And I want to share with you the probiotic that CHANGED THE GAME for me. Now, I know you are probably thinking, great, here is where she is trying to sell me something. What I am actually trying to do is save you from wasting your time and money trying other probiotics, where there is one on the market that is above and beyond the rest. That brand is called Seed, and the product is called the Daily Synbotic.
When I first shared about Seed on Instagram, people were super curious when I started noticing the benefits from taking Seed. Now, I can’t make any promises about when you will start seeing benefits because we are all so different, but I can tell you that within 2-3 weeks, I noticed my bloat had significantly reduced; that I started having more regular poops (daily!). Then, after about one month, I simply felt “normal” again. I don’t know how else to describe it, other than to say normal – reduced bloat, no more constipation, regular bowel movements, and no more pressure/fullness in my stomach.
On the bottle, you will see that you are supposed to take 2 pills per day, preferably on an empty stomach. For me, I am a morning supplement person, so I just wake up and take them with a large glass of water, and go about my morning. That said, I have taken them before bed, two hours after my last meal, and they still work great! But what ever you do, it’s important to be consistent – not just with your probiotics, but with anything in life. Am I right? No effort, no reward!
If you are interested in trying Seed (you should be – YAY!!!), I’ve linked it for you, and you can use code KALEJUNKIE15 at checkout to save 15% off your first order. I can’t wait to hear how Seed is working for you, so be sure to come back and leave a comment below!
