This bright and tangy dip will leave you dreaming of summer days spent on a beach near the Mediterranean Sea! My Strawberry Tomato Whipped Feta Dip is a delicious, creamy dip made from one of my favorite ingredients: feta cheese! Plus, it’s topped with colorful strawberries and tomatoes, for a sweet and summery kick that everyone will enjoy.
Friends, when it comes to a classic summertime snack, nothing hits the mark more than a variation of “chips” and dip. Whether we are talking about classic guacamole, creamy vegan queso, or even a sweet and chocolate-y dip, there’s something about this season that makes these simple and easy snacks truly shine. From enjoying them out by the pool, to curling up with a delicious dip and a cozy movie at the end of the day, there is truly no wrong way to enjoy them. And when it comes to this feta dip? No matter how you serve it, it’s delicious!
Feta Dip is a recipe that you can find at many Greek and Mediterranean restaurants, and usually involves some combination of feta cheese, tomatoes, and fresh herbs. But for this recipe, we’re taking things up a notch, by blending the feta with cream cheese and greek yogurt for an irresistibly creamy dip!
I was inspired to make this recipe after a trip home to Los Angeles, where I found myself at Bavel, a delicious Middle Eastern restaurant, in Downtown LA. There, I had a very similar creamy feta dip that was just too delicious! I couldn’t stop eating it, and I knew in that moment that I needed to recreate it.
Bavel serves their feta dip with warm pita bread, which is my favorite way to eat it! However, I also recommend eating it with crackers, pita chips, or your favorite cut up veggies. Whichever way you decide to “dip it,” you truly can’t go wrong!
This dip comes together with just a few simple ingredients!
While this feta dip may seem like the furthest dish from being vegan-friendly, seeing as it uses three different types of dairy and honey, this recipe can surprisingly be made vegan!
Simply swap the feta cheese for a vegan feta alternative, the cream cheese for a vegan cream cheese, and the greek yogurt for either soy or coconut yogurt!
And as for the honey, this can be replaced 1:1 with a touch of maple syrup. It’s as easy as that!
Making this dip is so simple and easy, you’ll love whipping it up on a lazy summer day! Simply add all of your ingredients, minus the cherry tomatoes and strawberries, to the base of a food processor and process until smooth. You may need to stop the food processor and manually break up some of the feta from time-to-time; just keep repeating this process until your dip is as smooth as possible!
While your dip is processing, wash and dry your cherry tomatoes and strawberries, and slice them in half, making sure to remove and discard the strawberry stems first.
Once your dip is done, transfer it to a plate and top it with your sliced tomatoes and strawberries, and give it an extra drizzle of olive oil, some salt and pepper, and a sprinkle of fresh, chopped dill. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to three days. Enjoy!
