Well, I’m sure quarantine has thrown all of us into a loop in many different ways. For me, ever since I left practicing law a few years ago to pursue my food blog, I have been working from home. So I know the drill pretty well. Others of you are working from home for the very first time, trading your business casual attire for god-knows-what. And while some businesses are allowing employees to return to an office setting, so many of you are still working from home. And in my opinion, if you have a choice, why go back – stay home. You have less of a commute anyway and can eat lunch and snack straight from your own kitchen. It’s like a dream come true.
Anyway, let’s chat about work-from-home attire. It’s super convenient to just wear the same athletic wear every single day. No one sees you. But, having been WFH longer than this quarantine, if there’s one thing I know to be true, it’s that you need to train your mind that you have somewhere to go. Put in a little effort to getting ready each morning, so that you look and feel your best. When you look and feel your best, you are most productive. I speak from personal experience and can tell you – that when I don’t shower and work in my dirty gym clothes, I am not my most confident self and I am not as productive. So if you want to be a true boss babe, get your shit together and get ready for your home workday.
Today I am sharing 5 different outfits for working from home, all things that I alternate in any given week.
Bottoms. You need to get yourself a pair (or 10) of Lululemon Align Leggings
These are the holy grail of leggings, and trust me when I tell you, I own 10 pairs in all different colors. They retain their shape well, and they are so flattering. They are pretty much the ONLY leggings I wear these days, both for working out, and working from home.
Bra. These days, I don’t wear a bra at all anymore. There is nothing like letting those beautiful breasts free. But, I’ll be honest. My usual morning routine is a workout, and then I come home and get my work done. Because I workout first, I need a supportive bra, and that’s where the Like A Cloud Bra comes in, it is super supportive, but LIKE A DAMN CLOUD!
Feeling Chilly at home? Throw on this bomber jacket. It’s reversible too!
Looking for something comfy, yet edgy at the same time? Check out these super cute denim-like sweats that you can actually find on Amazon!
Then, complete the look with a baggy tee shirt that you can loosely tuck inside!
If you wear shoes in the house, you need a pair of Axel Arigato platform sneaks. They are less expensive than Common Projects, and so much comfier! I love the gray color because they go with everything!
Some days I crave a soft, cozy cardi. It makes me want to make a pumpkin spice latte and cuddle up next to my computer – haha. But really, a cozy cardi makes all the difference in the world! These days I am loving this one from Madewell which screams FALL!
As far as leggings go, you all know that I would pair this cardigan with my Lululemon Aligns, because no, they aren’t just for working out. I live in them.
Whatever you do, don’t forget the cozy socks. Since the weather is changing, either grab yourself some slippers or socks.
Insist in keeping it more pajama-like, but still want to look the part? Lunya is my all time favorite brand, and they just launched a new Prima collection, with the softest fabrics. Note, Lunya is pricey, but you get what you pay for, and the pieces last for years (I have had some of my Lunya pieces for about 4 years and counting). Here is the set I’m loving!
Don’t forget the scrunchie, I already have both colors and it is the softest and best scrunchie ever!
You guys, I don’t have to pull of this look because I live in all of the other outfits I shared with you guys above. But my husband, Greg, is the king of business casual on the top and a party on the bottom. He wears a tee shirt on top with boxers on the bottom, so he can hop on all those Zoom calls and no one even knows he’s not wearing any pants. Hahaha! So I thought to myself, if I had to pull of this look, this is what my look would be!
Or better yet, go skimpy.
