Cinnamon French Toast

CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST - INGREDIENTSFOR THE WAFFLES:2 slices sprouted bread 2 organic, pasture raised eggs1 tb cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tb ghee or avocado oil or coconut oil (highly recommend ghee, makes it nice and crispy and the taste is primo)FOR TOPPINGS:1 cup sliced organic strawberries 2 tb hemp hearts1-2 tb maple syrup

REALITY —> I’m not sitting in my bed with this plate of CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST. My mornings usually consist of a 4-year old named Gavyn prancing into my bedroom with no underwear on and sitting on my face, between 5:15-5:30am, errrrrrrrr day. Breakfast usually involves stuffing my face with one of my baked goods, downing a cup of coffee, and getting both boys ready, fed (usually eggs, toast, a @chomps beef stick, and OJ, yes it’s a lot, but BOYS), and out the door for school. So there’s your dose of INSTA vs REALITY, mom life style. That said, my CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST is the bomb shizzzzzzy and it’s pretty darn healthy because it’s made with simple, real food ingredients!

CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients

FOR THE WAFFLES:

  • 2 slices sprouted bread
  • 2 organic, pasture raised eggs
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp ghee or avocado oil or coconut oil (highly recommend ghee, makes it nice and crispy and the taste is primo)

FOR TOPPINGS:

  • 1 cup sliced organic strawberries
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 1-2 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  • Heat the ghee or oil in a medium pan over medium heat on the stove.
  • Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture, coating each side well. You really want the mixture to soak the bread.
  • Place each slice of bread in the pan and cook on each side for 3-5 minutes, or until crisped to your liking. Transfer for a plate and top with strawberries, hemp, and maple syrup!
