When it comes to the different type of fish, I truly believe that salmon is one of the most, if not THE most, delicious fish out there. It has a rich, buttery flavor that is hard to resist. When cooked properly, the flesh is tender and moist, and it flakes apart beautifully. And not to mention, it’s incredibly versatile.

Whether you are baking it with lemon for a delightful summertime dinner, or putting a viral spin on it and turning it into sushi cups, you truly can’t go wrong with salmon. No matter how you prepare it, it’s guaranteed to turn out delicious!

This preparation of salmon is hands-down my favorite, though. While the most common way to prepare salmon is to bake it, I absolutely LOVE broiling it. The broiler truly brings out the soft, buttery flavor and texture of the salmon, making it melt in your mouth. When I had salmon prepared this way, it absolutely changed my life! And the best part is, this salmon only needs to cook for about 8-9 minutes, so it’s a quick, simple, and incredibly easy way to prepare it. What could be better than that?!

Three Ingredients to Make This Delicious Salmon

  • Salmon Filets: Of course, you’ll need salmon filets in order to make this recipe! I source my salmon from a local butcher, and this recipe works well with truly any cut or variety of salmon.
  • Olive Oil: Olive oil really helps to bring out the rich, buttery taste of salmon. If you don’t want to use olive oil, you can also use avocado oil.
  • Seasonings: You can season your salmon filets with any seasonings that you’d like! I personally love seasoning mine with sea salt, black pepper, onion powder, and cumin. It’s a classic flavor profile that will work, no matter how you choose to serve your salmon!

How to Make This Buttery, Perfect Salmon, Every Time

To make these perfect salmon filets, start by preheating your oven, on the broil setting, on high. Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your salmon filets on top of it. Pour your oil on top of the salmon filets and rub until they are generously coated in the oil. Then, add your seasonings and rub them into the salmon filets.

Once your salmon filets are seasoned, place them into the oven, on the bottom rack. If your oven only has one broil setting (like mine does), then place them onto the middle rack. Broil for 8-9 minutes. Once they’re done, remove them from the oven, serve, and enjoy!

  1. Made this tonight – thanks for the easy recipe not wasn’t clear to me which broiler temp to use and I went with LOW – it worked perfect.
We put it in a bowl with rice , shredded veg and a miso-ginger sauce. Yum.

This was delicious and so easy. I was looking for a recipe at the last minute and this one was perfect. I decided to BBQ instead of broil; BBQ for 9 min at about 350F – so good.
