10 Minute Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos

 July 18, 2023

Juicy, perfect shrimp tucked into a warm, grain-free tortilla and slathered with a creamy mango-avocado salsa? Tell me how it could get better than that! These 10 Minute Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos are truly the taste of summer. They’re packed with protein, tons of flavor, and a homemade salsa that is so good, you’ll want to eat it with a spoon! This recipe is a collaboration with my friend Olivia, and we know that you are going to love it.

One of my favorite parts of being a recipe creator is the ability to create with other creators that I absolutely love… like my friend Olivia! Olivia and I met over Instagram and when she told me that she was coming out to San Francisco… I knew that we needed to sneak in some time to create a few recipes together. She is one of my favorite food creators when it comes to all things gluten and dairy-free, and I know you guys will love her recipes (and cute personality!) just as much as I do.

So, when we set out to create a few recipes together, we knew that we wanted to create something that screamed summertime. And, what encapsulates summertime more than tacos? They’re crispy, they’re crunchy, they’re bursting with flavor, and they’re perfect for easy backyard dinners in the sunshine! My absolute favorite type of tacos to make are shrimp tacos, and I think these may become your new favorite tacos, too.

They’re super easy to throw together, and are made in an air fryer, so your shrimp gets perfectly cooked in a matter of minutes. No more waiting around for things to bake – in an air fryer, these tacos come together in a matter of minutes! Plus, we’re serving them over grain-free tortillas for a healthy twist. Add in our homemade mango-avocado salsa that goes on top (or could totally be eaten with a spoon… we don’t judge!) and you’ve got a recipe that’s truly a match made in heaven.

What You Need to Make These Crispy Summer Tacos

The ingredients for these tacos could not be any simpler! Simply ensure that your shrimp are seasoned to perfection, then air fry, assemble, and enjoy: it’s as simple and easy as that. ☻

  • Shrimp: Shrimp is rich in vitamins and minerals, and is packed with protein, making it the perfect base for our taco filling! Just make sure that the shrimp is peeled and deveined – you can do this yourself, or have your local butcher do it for you!
  • Seasonings: Of course, the key to any great shrimp recipe is ensuring that the shrimp is properly seasoned! For this recipe, we’ll be seasoning our shrimp with a combination of salt, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  • Honey: Honey adds the perfect touch of sweetness to the shrimp!
  • Olive Oil: Olive oil is packed with healthy fats, and ensures that the seasonings coat your shrimp properly.
  • Grain-Free Tortillas: To keep this recipe healthier and grain-free, we’ll be using Siete Grain-Free tortillas in order to build our tacos! However, you can also use whatever tortillas you prefer.
  • Mango-Avocado Salsa: As part of the collaboration between me and Olivia, we also created a refreshing Mango-Avocado salsa to top your tacos with! This salsa is slightly sweet, super flavorful, and perfect for the summertime.
  • Guacamole: A touch of guacamole adds a delicious and bright flavor to these tacos!
  • Cilantro: And, of course, no taco recipe would be complete without the cilantro. In my opinion, the more chopped cilantro, the better!

How to Make These Simple & Easy Air Fryer Tacos

To make these tacos, start by adding the shrimp, olive oil, honey, salt, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, and cayenne to a large bowl and toss to combine. Next, line the air fryer tray with parchment paper and spread the tossed shrimp out across the tray. Then, air fry the shrimp at 400 for 7-8 minutes.

While the shrimp is cooking, warm the tortillas by gently warming them over the open flame of a gas stove. If you don’t have access to a gas stove, you can also just warm them in a pan. Finally, once the shrimp are done, remove them from the oven and assemble the tacos. Line each tortilla with the guacamole, shrimp, mango avocado salsa, and cilantro. Then, serve and enjoy!
