Friends, if you’ve ever been to Disneyland (or any of the Disney parks before), then you may be familiar with a little frozen treat called Dole Whip. It’s a deliciously-sweet, creamy, tangy treat that tastes like a pineapple ice cream. In fact, it’s so good, that you may even find yourself amongst the crowds that wait in line for hours, just to try this treat. But lucky for you, you don’t need to wait hours to try the magical taste of Dole Whip for yourself. What You Need to Make This Delicious Dole Whip

As mentioned above, you only need three simple and easy ingredients to make this protein-packed recipe!

  • Pineapple Chunks: The key to making Dole Whip is to use lots of fresh pineapple! To make this recipe, you’ll want your pineapple cut into chunks. And if you aren’t sure how to cut your pineapple into those perfect chunks (I get it, it’s hard!) I have a tutorial here that makes cutting a pineapple so simple and easy.
  • Coconut Cream: Coconut cream is a creamy, delicious, plant-based ingredient that comes from the “thick” part at the top of a can of coconut milk. You can also buy cans of coconut cream on their own, but just make sure it’s nice and thick!
  • Collagen Peptides: Collagen is one of my favorite sources of protein, because it’s tasteless and odorless (aka it doesn’t affect the integrity of the finished product!) but it’s packed with protein. My favorite collagen is by Ancient Nutrition. It’s the best!

A Few Tips for Making the Perfect Dole Whip

Want to make sure that your Dole Whip turns out perfect, every time? Follow these tips and I promise, it will turn out perfect!

  • Use Frozen Pineapple for a Thicker Consistency: If you want your Dole Whip less liquid-y and more thick and creamy, then be sure to freeze your pineapple chunks before blending. It’s a simple and easy trick that yields amazing results!
  • Make it Fresh, Every Time: While this may seem like a good recipe to prepare ahead of time and have on-hand, this recipe truly tastes best when it’s made fresh. And because it uses only a few simple ingredients, it’s perfect to whip up on a whim!
  • Want to Kick the Flavors Up a Notch? Add a Sprig of Mint: If you’re looking to really elevate your Dole Whip, garnish it with a sprig of fresh mint! It not only adds a delicious flavor, but makes the Dole Whip light and vibrant.

This recipe also happens to be dairy-free and grain-free, so it's the perfect healthy treat!

Equipment

  • 1 Blender I love my Vitamix blender, and will always recommend it!

Ingredients

  • 1 Can Pineapple Chunks
  • ½ Cup Coconut Cream
  • 1 Scoop Collagen Peptides

Instructions

  • Start by opening your can of pineapple separate the chunks from the liquid. Save the liquid and store it in a separate container for later. If using a fresh pineapple be sure to completely remove the rind and slice it into chunks.
  • Add your pineapple chunks to a container and freeze until frozen solid – usually overnight.
  • Then, once your pineapple is frozen, add the chunks to a high-speed blender alongside the liquid from the can, the coconut cream, and the collagen peptides.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender to make sure all of the ingredients are fully incorporated.
  • Serve and enjoy!
