This Easy Grilled Bang Bang Corn combines perfectly grilled corn with a tangy Bang Bang Sauce and a sprinkle of cotija cheese for the perfect summertime treat. Serve it poolside with your favorite BBQ or enjoy it as a delicious snack, all on it’s own – no matter how you choose to enjoy it, there’s no wrong way!
One of my favorite foods to enjoy this time of year is corn. Who remembers the Viral Corn Ribs from a few summers ago? Corn is healthy, delicious, cheap, and abundant, making it one of the perfect staples to your summertime diet! Not to mention, it is also incredibly versatile, which means that your corn never needs to be boring!
So, when I had the idea to combine perfectly grilled corn with a delicious Bang Bang Sauce, the end result was a match made in heaven. Bang Bang Sauce is an Asian-inspired sauce that’s often served with chicken, beef, or even shrimp. But, when paired with the sweet grilled corn, it’s zesty, tangy, and absolutely delicious. And the best part is… you don’t even need to make this recipe on the grill!
While I highly recommend making it on the grill, you can also easily prepare this corn on the stovetop, if you don’t have one. This recipe is so simple and easy, it may just become your new summertime staple!
What You Need to Make This Perfect Summertime Grilled Corn
🌽 Corn: Whole corn cobs are perfect for this recipe! Corn is cheap and abundant this time of year, so I love making the most out of it!
Mayonnaise or Greek Yogurt: I like to use greek yogurt to pack this sauce full of protein! However, you can also use mayo and if you do, I highly recommend using my 1 Minute Homemade Mayonnaise for a way more delicious (and easier) option!
Sriracha: Sriracha is one of my favorite hot sauces, and adds such a delicious kick to this sauce.
Rice Vinegar: Rice vinegar adds just the right amount of tang to the sauce. Don’t skip it!
Coconut Aminos or Soy Sauce: If you want to keep this recipe gluten-free, opt for the coconut aminos. If not, traditional soy sauce also works well, here!
🍯 Honey: Honey makes this sauce sweet without the extra refined sugars.
🧄 Garlic: I always recommend using fresh garlic, whenever possible. The flavor is truly unbeatable!
Ground Ginger: Don’t knock it until you try it – the ground ginger adds a delicious kick!
Crushed Red Pepper Flakes: Crushed Red Pepper Flakes add just the right amount of heat, to this recipe.
🧀 Cotija Cheese: Cotija cheese is delicious with corn, and is a staple in traditional Mexican Street Corn recipes. And while this isn’t a street corn recipe, it does taste delicious, here!
Chives and Parsley: Fresh chopped chives and parsley add the perfect finishing touch to this corn!
While the corn is grilling, prepare the Bang Bang sauce. Add the sauce ingredients (the mayonnaise or greek yogurt, sriracha, rice vinegar, coconut aminos or soy sauce, honey, garlic, ground ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes) to a bowl and mix until fully combined.
How to Make This Delicious Grilled Corn: Two Ways!
There are two easy ways to prepare this corn: on the grill and off the grill! While I prefer the grilled method for the best flavor, if you don’t have access to a grill, you can also prepare this corn by boiling it.
The Grill Method:
If you plan to prepare this corn on the grill, start by prepping the corn. Shuck and wash the corn cobs. Then, set them aside. Next, set your grill to 450 F and grill the corn for 12-15 minutes, being sure to rotate it every few minutes, so that it cooks evenly.

Once the corn is cooked, remove it from the grill and drizzle the Bang Bang sauce on top. Garnish with the chopped chives, chopped parsley, and cotija cheese, if desired. Then, serve and enjoy!

The Boiling Method:
If you don’t have access to a grill, you can prepare the corn by boiling it! To use this alternative method, start by preparing the corn, as described above.
Next, bring a large pot of water to a boil, on the stove. Once the water is boiling, add the corn into the pot and allow it to cook for 3-5 minutes, under the corn kernels are tender and golden.
Once the corn is done, remove it from the water and continue the recipe as described above!
